"My Fall"

I hear the melody in my head
While singing it through my voice
I'm preceding one who's made ears bled
And succeeding one who's soft from choice
Now, again I'm ready to sing my all
And my all is what they shall hear
But the spotlights've made a big black wall
And I'm suddenly struck with fear
I open my mouth to sing my best
And I can't believe what I do
My passion has suddenly lost its zest,
My pride slowly subdues
And I'll never forgive thosedamn spotlights
If not for them I'd've won that night.
