Shadow Society

Life’s like this-

Bones break and hearts ache

-Rules imposed unfairly

Killing, blood spilling

-By a good person who’s had a rough day

Pills and bills, sex and screams

Painted porcelain masks and preordained fates

Life’s choices clouded by the tainted nightmares of humanity made disillusions

The demons of this darkened future cut off the angels’ wings

And I remember vaguely laughing-

As I stepped over the broken bodies

Black as the paint of my nails and the clothes we sport

Red from barbs of the of the wire

Miseducation keeps in place these shackles of hate

And we stumble blindly, constricted

By the self-imposed boxes
