You think that they care, but they don't

They smile and laugh, but inside, they are screaming insults

and telling you to stop your endless droning

You confide in them,

Pour out your whole being in a single sentence,

Such is their power,

they don't have an interest in you.

Inside of their heads, they are laughing maniacally

Praising themselves for the pain that they've caused

You want to hate them, you really do

But throughout everything they've put you through

You find that you can't

Because despite it all,

You find yourself loving them

and looking to them for answers

and no matter how many times you swear that

you shall never return to gaze upon their faces

You find yourself forever running back,

Into the hands of the enemy.
