A Broken Spirit
By Tara Nicole Walker
We live through torture of many years
We lose track of those tears that we shed
We live with the hatred of our many fears
And lose count of the drops of blood we've bled
We live with agony and we live with Pleasure.
We live with fear and pain
We live with love that we do treasure
But without all these we have no gain
Friends come and they go
Others live and die
These are facts of life that we should know
One word we are acquainted with is: goodbye
But our spirits keep us going
They always lift us up
No matter what we're doing
Or how deep we've sunk into the muck
The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness
And makes things clear so that we can hear it
But how can one hear if one does not listen?
And who can bear a broken spirit?
The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness
And makes things clear so that we can hear it
But how can one hear if one does not listen?
The same who can bear a broken spirit.
Proverbs 18:14
The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness – but who can bear a broken spirit?
