Chapter 1
Emily Moore couldn't believe the turn of events that happened in her life. This time last year she was driving to Jersey to get away from the city. Now a year later she was driving back to get away from everything in Jersey. She sighed. 'Why is it always my life that's so complicated?' she thought. She was starting out the same way. Driving to her new apartment. Only the difference was this time it was a dorm. She finnally decided to give college a shot.
"Are you Emily Moore?" the girl asked in the dorm.
"That depends are you Megan Ericsson?"
"I am,"
"Then I'm Emily Moore,"
Megan smiled. "Have you lived in the city long?"
"I lived here until last year and then I moved to New Jersey,"
"And now you came back?"
"Yep,"
"That's cool. I'm from Conneticut. I got a scholarship here,"
Emily nodded.
"Megan!" a boy called as he stuck his head into the room.
"Yea?"
"There's a party being thrown down the hall later tonight. It's for the start of school and everything. Bring your friend," he said flashing a smile at Emily.
"Alright that sounds fun. Emily this is my friend Steven Miller. Steve, this is Emily Moore,"
"Hi Emily,"
"Hi,"
"Alright well I'll see you guys later," he said and left.
"You know, Steven is single," Megan said after a few minutes.
"So?"
"Hey it seems like you two could hit it off but then again I might be wrong,"
Emily smiled. "Maybe," was all she said. 'Might as well. I've gotta get over this Gianni thing once and for all,' she thought to herself.
"Is he gonna be at that party later?" Emily asked.
"Yea. Steven is always all over the place. He knows practically everyone,"
Emily nodded. 'Maybe this won't be so bad after all...' she thought.

Gianni Fiorello walked into his uncle's office.
"Hey! Gianni! How have you been?" Frank Fiorello asked.
"Alright," he lied.
"Good. And you're mother and brothers?"
"Everyone's good,"
"That's good to hear,"
Gianni and his uncle sat down and discussed Gianni's first assignment.
(a/n: I don't think you can really get a job at a newspaper without graduationg college but hey it's my fic. hehe :D)
By the time Gianni got home he was exhausted. He looked across the street and saw the new family that moved into the place Emily once lived. His heart broke at the site. That place would always be Emily's in his heart. But it didn't matter in a week he'd be moving in with his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle had bought a house in Staten Island. Not too far from where Emily now lived. Manhatten. He'd be there everyday working. He wondered if he'd ever bump into Emily. It was a big city though. Lots of people. He hoped he'd bump into her. He just wanted to see her. To make sure she was alright. He rolled over into sleep dreaming that he and Emily would get back together.

Lila Hunter walked into school. It was weird without some of her friends there. Emily was long gone. Gianni would be leaving in a few days. Jake was still around though. Still together with Grace. She smiled thinking of how her and Emily had set Jake up with Grace. He still thanks her for that. She stared at her engagement ring. She was young, she knew, but within a year or so she'd be Mrs. Shawn Thompson. Mrs. Lila Thompson. Nothing delighted her more. She was in love with Shawn and couldn't wait to marry him. She just wished Gianni and Emily were still together. It was fun when they all used to hang out like that. Shawn-and-Lila and Jake-and-Grace and Gianni-and-Emily. They were perfect for eachother. She knew it. Gianni knew it. Emily knew it. Everyone knew it. Well by now Emily probably changed her mind about that really fast. She'd get them back together. She vowed she would. It worked the first time and it'll work again. After school she approached Jake.
"Aw come on Lil, you're crazy," Jake Carmichael said.
"I'm not Jake! I'm serious! They're perfect for eachother right?"
"Yea...?"
"Well it's up to us to bring them back together,"
"Why us?"
"Because we got them together in the first place!!"
"Lila you do realize that Emily doesn't even talk to Gianni anymore? You realize that he dumped her by telling her that he doesn't love her?"
"Yes of course I know that!" she hissed.
"Then what makes you think this cockamamie plan is going to work?"
"Look, Emily is invited to Vito's wedding,"
"That's in 4 months!!"
"I know that!"
"So why are you worrying about this now?!"
"Because these things take time and careful planning. One wrong thing and you're screwed,"
"You sound like we're plotting to steal something,"
"You gonna help or not?"
"Fine! I will! But it ain't gonna be easy to get Emily to speak to Gianni,"
"Well that's the first step. Getting them to talk and we'll accomplish that at Vito's wedding,"
"If you say so," he said.
