Growing Up
I sit here in my room,
Ripping the heads from all the stuffed toys,
The bears, the cats, the dogs and all the other fluffy creatures.
I'm too old for this shit.
I sit here and look around the room with its lavender walls and bows of the most horrible shades of pinks, yellows, blues, and greens.
Butterflies and unicorns line every surface.
I can't believe I was so deluded.
My bed is all a white with lace,
My closet full of blouses skirts and dresses.
I tore out of my old clothes, and put on the jeans, T-shirt and running shoes I just bought.
I grabbed the an of gasoline I brought up during the night,
I drenched every thing.
'Till the smell of the flammable fluid overrode the smells of perfume and potpourri.
I too one last look at the room.
Struck the match, and dropped it,
It ignited.
I shut the door and ran downstairs.
Let it burn, let it all burn.
