Insane Moment

Heya! This poem was written during a moment of quiet thoughtfulness, which I'm kinda prone to every now and then! Cannot be helped :D I hope it means or touches something in somebody, hmm… or perhaps not, but I actually wrote it before I found out about the death of a friends family member. Which is weird, as I had already done this before I even found out. Oh well, it was strange for me! I'd welcome any thoughts on the poem, if you have any? Thanks, AJ.

In an insane moment

I found you lying

Blood-reddened face

Like you'd been crying.

I prayed to God

'Forgo this passing!'

'I'll be all right,' you said,

The last thing

You knew, as I

That today, you'd die…

And finally it came,

I understood,

How nothing had changed,

Or could, or would…

And then this life

It slipped and fell

In a moment of strife

Blinked out aswell.

Eyes as shutters

Clamped shut against will.

You're heart shall flutter

And then beat still.

No one could hear

My stricken words.

As your soul burned out;

My vision blurred.
