Post 9/11
We say the haven't terrorists won, but in a certain sense, they have. Indeed, I was shocked and horrified at what happened on 9/11/01. In truth, Americans came together post 9-11, people had a rush to donate blood and money to the red cross. Hundreds of fire fighters and police traveled to ground-zero to help the search and recovery. All in the spirit of America. And celebrities held concerts and events, again in the spirit of America. And our government acted swiftly and decisively, bombing terrorist hide- outs and removing the Taliban from power. And for awhile, we were all united. Then (in my opinion) President Bush was using 9/11 as a way to boost spending in the Defense Department. It was the same way during the Cold War and even before. They would spend billions of dollars on defense, because of the Russians. And now, it's the Muslims. Its not even fair to say Muslims or Russians, because all are not terrorists. But still, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate. First, we feared for our country. Then, we were angry at the ones who attacked us. And now, we hate them.
Ayman Gheith, Kambiz Butt and Omer Choudhary accused of laughing and joking about 9/11, and saying "We're sad on 9/11, wait until 9/13.". And she claimed they had a bomb. And again, a women over hearing them talking, must have thought they were talking about terror, when they might have been talking about certain medical terms. And so, fear. She called police. They were stopped on their way to Miami. Kept in custody for 17 hours, and what did authorities conclude? Nothing. But still that one women, and everyone else who isn't Muslim in America has a certain power. They have the power of Fear, Anger, and Hate. After they were accused Ayman Gheith, Kambiz Butt and Omer Choudhary continued to the place where they were to start internship in a Florida hospital, and they were shortly thereafter kicked out. Why? Fear. You can almost ruin people's lives with fear. And no, its not just Muslims either. A doctor working on Anthrax development was declared a "person of interest" by the U.S. government.
There was no evidence against him, but he spoke out and declared that he was not a terrorist sending anthrax, indeed he said he loved America and would do no such thing. What did the great US government do? Told the university to make sure he doesn't work on any defense department projects again.
You see, the government is slowly taking our civil liberties away. The people of America and the government have a certain special power. As I said before, fear, anger, hate. And they can ruin people's lives with it, just because they are Muslim. All you have to do is make up a story saying they said they would blow up a building, or they looked suspicious, and with it you can ruin their lives. Why? Because we live in America, though it is great, we don't even realize what is happening to America, and the World.
Again, don't have fear, don't have anger, and don't have hate.
