.Boy Next Door© - Chapter One: My Name Is
It was the afternoon after I got out of school for the summer. I was walking down the street past the basketball court, on my way home. I have been in private school all my life so the uniform was making me sweat. As I grew closer to the court, there he was, leaning on his brand new convertible. He was absolutely gorgeous and had a knock out body. But who was I kidding? I was way to young for this guy, but I can still look.right?
He was about 6'0, smooth chocolate skin, big brown eyes, and an unforgettable smile. He wore a bandana around his head, and sported long cornrows. He wore a wife beater, baggy denim jeans and a fresh pair Air Force Ones. And by the looks of all the guys that surrounded him, he was popular too.
I sped up my slowing walking, so he wouldn't catch me staring. Unfortunately, I was caught.
"You seem to have wandering eyes, little lady." He said me, flashing his award winning smile.
"Huh?" I said smiling back at him. I had an award winning smile too.
"Come here for a second. Slow down a bit."
His friends hadn't realized his departure, so he followed me.
"How old are you?" I asked shyly, still smiling.
"You have a beautiful smile, you know that?"
"Everyone always says it, so I guess I do. Now answer my question."
"Oh, sorry. I'm 22. How old are you 17 or 18?"
"No." I said quietly.
"Younger?"
"Yes."
"Oh.so I guess I'm way too old for you then, huh?"
"Well.no."
"Good. So can I get your numba?" He asked, smiling again, knowing I can't deny him.
"Sure. My number is 587-8902. My name is Kendall. You?"
He got out a crumbled sheet of paper and a pen and asked me 2 repeat the number.
"I'm Omari. So when can I call you?"
"Tonight. It's my own line."
"Oh ok. So how old are you? You never told me."
"I'm 15."
"When are you turning 16?"
"Next year." I said, embarrassed.
"Damn."
"I know."
"It's cool. We can just kick it.'til your legal." He laughed.
I laughed back. He walked me to my door and promised to call. As I walked into the house, my brother De' Mario greeted me in his boxers.
"Hey!"
"Ugh. Put some clothes on, boy!"
"NEVER!" He laughed, as he ran upstairs.
De' Mario and I were thick as thieves. He was 19 years old and lived at home with my mom and I, since he was home for the summer from school. He was kind, understanding, and very overprotective.
But enough about everyone else, lets talk about me. As you know by now my name's Kendall. I'm about 5'6, with a sandy skin complexion and hazel eyes. De' Mario and I are only related by marriage. His father married my mom, but then he walked out on us, years ago. If you're wondering, yes I am the good catholic schoolgirl. I've never done anything to hurt my mom, never had sex, never drank, never did drugs, and never stole anything. I was bored with life and I was hoping I'd meet someone who could save me.
I ran upstairs to my room to undress myself and then the phone rang. It was my bestfriends, Michelle and Tori. I blame them for me not having and fun, they think so negative about everything, but mainly boys.
"Hey, ladies!" I said.
"Yo gurl!" Michelle said.
"Hi." Tori said in her squeaky mouse voice.
"I met this boy.well guy." I whispered, hoping that De' Mario wouldn't hear me.
"And?" Tori said in a snotty tone. I hated that tone.
"He was probably a thuggish hoodie!" Michelle screamed.
"Hoodie?" I laughed.
"Yes? What's so damn funny?"
"You said hoodie!" I was laughing like a lunatic.
"Look, when you have something besides dirty boys to talk about, call us."
Then they hung up on me.
Sometimes I hated them. They never acted our age and they always wanted to talk about school. As a kid I liked school and I loved Science, but now that I'm a teenage girl, I want to explore new things - like boys. I felt a tear drip from my eye, and then the phone rang.
"Hello?" I asked, sucking up the tears. "Hey chick!"
It was Jarell Houston, my best friend that I could never see. He was 17 years old and I wanted him so bad. I was 13 when I first saw him and ever since we been on the DL as friends.
"Sup cutie. What you doin' boy?" "Nothin.' Thinking about you, sexy." "Yea sure." I giggled. "Meet any boys finer than me yet?" "Yup." "Name?" "Omari, the finest guy alive." "Hold up, do he got cornrows?" "Yes." "Nice build?" "Uh huh." "And he's 22?" "Yea.." "Stay away from him. He's trouble." "Sure." "Look girl I'm telling you, stay away." He got serious. "Aight. Dang, Rell." "You better."
I started laughing. My mom walked in and told me to do my chores and homework and to get off the phone so I did.
As I begin to translate my Spanish, my bedroom phone rang - again.
"Hello." "Hey. Is this Kendall?" "Yes.who's this?" "Omari. What's up? You busy?" "Nope." "Good."
His voice was smooth and sexy and all his words came from the soul. His words rang through my ear and made me shiver all over. He already had a deep sensual hold me. A hold that I prayed he'd never let go..
