Shadow of a Vampire

Chapter thirteen: Falls of Blood

"In my hands love lies bleeding." -Fuel

Good-bye dear uncle.

"Wait, my boy." Seth reached up, grabbing Alex's shirt secretly feeling for Alex's scar, the place where he was still bleeding on the inside. "You were a great nephew."

Alex stared at him, unsure of what to say.

"But," He pulled him closer. "If I die. It's not going to be alone." Seth shoved his sword through Alex's lower chest.

Alex felt the sword go through him, he felt the blood gush out. He looked Seth in the eyes and with the last bit of strength he could muster, shoved the sword through his heart. Seth disappeared in a billow of dust.

Alex fell down beside the ashes, slowly pulling the sword from his side. His blood pooled around him, slowly snaking it's way through the cracks of the cement like the rivers which slowly ran red.

Kristen rushed over to him, kneeling beside him, she pressed her hand against the wound to stop the blood flow as much as possible.

The rain continued to pour down on the, joining in their mourning. The clouds swirled above. The towering mansion seemed to laugh at their naiveté.

Alex looked up at Kristen and smiled. "I love you." his whisper was hoarse and cracked.

Kristen smiled. "Tell me that when you're feeling better."

Alex winced. "Kristen,... there. Might not be a better." He closed his eyes.

He wasn't talking in full sentences. God, hadn't she read someone that was one of the signs of dying.

Alex's icy eyes began to droop. "NO! Damnit. Alex open your eyes." She commanded. Crystalline tears dripped down her face falling onto his black shirt.

(This made me think of the ending of Beauty and the Beast, except more tragic.)

Faintly Kristen heard the sound of the door opening, the sound of echoing footsteps. "He need's blood."

"I know. Would he take mine."

"I don't know. He's not a vampire."

Kristen nodded, looking saddened

"But, he's half."

Kristen bent down, exposing her neck to Alex. She pulled him up so his lips touched her neck. He bit into the skin. Her blood, her life force poured into his body. Healing some of his wounds.

Things started to swirl in front of Kristen. Everything became fuzzy. She faintly felt Alex pull away and the echo of Luke's words. "Are you okay?" Then she collapsed next to Alex.

After weeks of intensive care and worrying about Kristen, Alex was finally allowed out.

Running, straight to the front desk. He questioned the nurse. "Kristen Barquo. (Sorry if I already gave her a last name. She has a new one.) What room is she in?"

"375" She responded. Alex bounded up before he got to see the nurses head jerk up like she remembered something, seeing he was gone, look back down.

Alex rushed into the room quietly but quickly. The pillows were neatly stacked at the top of the bed. Clean, pressed sheets lay atop them, neatly folded. Laying on the bed was a note.

Alex,

I tried to wait for you, but you were taking to long. I love you. I'm sorry I didn't wait. Please don't be mad.

With all my love,

Kristen

The note fell from his hands. Was she really gone? She was gone from his life forever? He sulked from the room. Grabbing his things he headed to her house to gather his things.

Her house was so empty. So cold. Isolated and desolate. It was dark. The shadows cast on the wall gave him no comfort. The dying lavenders gave him no warmth. He lowered his self onto the couch staring at the blank television screen.

"What are you doing?"

Standing up, and turning around he was greeted with the most warming sight he had ever seen. Suddenly the room seemed brighter, the lavenders smelled of dreams and newly wished upon stars. He smiled. "Never leave a note like that again. I had thought you died."

"You silly. You just had a pessimistic attitude." She smiled walking up to him and hugging him. "You should be happy."

Note from Author: I had originally had a different copy, but I lost it. It was better. Sorry, but it's finally over. Alex didn't die. : ) Kristen's safe and Seth is dead. But that doesn't stop the next evil from stopping by. Umm, I'd like to thank everybody who read and reviewed it. THANK YOU! Those reviews made my day. : )

Especially you few who stuck with me through the whole story. You know who you are. THANKS!

Well, I'm working on the next vampire story. When I post it I would greatly appreciate it if you just take a peak, maybe drop a little review.

I had posted Demons of the Night. I guess nobody likes it. It's just not getting any reviews. : ( But my next story will be out soon. Once I figure out the plot. So until then
