America's Wound Part Two

It has been one whole year

Since that fateful day

When four planes were hijacked

And our hope taken away.

But out of every crisis

There comes a bit of good

Tragedy united us

Like nothing ever could.

Now everyone is patriotic

Wearing their red, white, and blue

Mourning the deaths of others

But celebrating America too.

Even now as time flies by

The pain of death fades away

But it never will be fully gone

It will be there every day.

And so we remember

Each year at this time

The loved ones we lost

In the terrible crime.

Three hundred sixty-five days

Missing the ones we hold dear

But moving on and living our lives

Living lives to the fullest all year.
