Yesterday

Edit Dec. 9, 2003 -- Slight formatting edit to an old poem. Enjoy.

Things change,
Friends loose touch,
Young love grows apart,
So what is it good for,
Tell me, what is the use?
Time changes life, changes hearts.
Nothing's ever the same,
You can't go back to yestrday.

Live in the day,
If I saw you would you know my name, my face?
Would you remember what we shared,
Or would it be gone like yesterday?

Hearts ache, we feel pain.
We all move on... or do we?
Do you still remember?
Because I do, it's still clear in my mind,
Untouched by time,
Like it was yesterday.

Just live for today,
If I saw you would you know my name, my face?
Would you remember what we shared,
Or would it be gone like yesterday?

Tears fall, we cry,
Lost memories come flooding back.
Were they buried for a reason,
Is this something best forgotten?
I can't take this lonlieness anymore,
I've just got to be where you are.
I'm going back to yesterday.

I've been counting the days,
Now I'll call out your name, I'll see your face.
I know you'll remember what we shared,
Tomorrow will be just like yesterday.
