WRITING CHALLENGE CONTEST
Good morning, RG!
"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour."
by William Blake, Auguries of Innocence.
Prompt given by Denizen47, last month's winner.
Because this is a long prompt us mods have decided you need only be inspired by one line if you find it hard to be inspired by the entirety of it.
Remember, even though there must be a connection between your submitted piece and the prompt, you need not make "obvious" connections. The prompt is meant to inspire.
Registrations and submissions have now started! Edit in the link to your piece in your registration post once it has been created. You can register and submit your work until the end of the 7th of July. Remember, one piece per person! We accept both poetry and stories.
If you have any preference on what you want reviewed if you win, write that into your registration post.
It is okay to promote voting through author note or your profile.
If you have any questions, ask at Problems/Questions.
If you find bumps on your way, you can go to Help with your writing and get help there.
Otherwise, Resources for Writing has some nifty links to help you along with uncertain areas.
Good luck everyone!7/1/2009 . Edited 7/2/2009 #302

Edit: Regrettibly i will have to withdraw my submission (teach me to sign up on a holiday weekend) however i will give a review to the winner. good luck to all!7/2/2009 . Edited 7/7/2009 #316
but I cannot promise to not do something very much like a non-cursory review to the person who is in the position just ahead of the first runner up.
I'm sorry Soldier, but I have no clue what the above even means, and unless you promise to review the winner you cannot be a registered participant. This is regardless if you contribute with a piece or not. So please edit your post if you want to be registered.
Same to you - you also need to promise to review the winner. Please edit.7/2/2009 #317
EDIT: I'm going to be on vacation sometime this month, the date is not specified, so I have to unfortunately withdraw... :(7/2/2009 . Edited 7/4/2009 #318

Ah, yes, I am about 15 minutes late :(
I stumbled upon this forum a while ago, and the prompt gave me an idea, I had to try out, so alas, I'm posting it. You can deny my entry if you choose, technically, it's July 8th right now. I had to write this anyways, one of those compulsive things. I wrote it in about an hour after reading the prompt at 11 PM, haha. I don't have high expectations, but it would be a waste not to try ^_^
I followed the line: "To hold the world in a grain of sand"
Beautiful prompt by the way ♥
It's about 600 words, a very short story.
I'm registering for the first time and I guarantee a review to the winner of this contest :)

GAH! Don't I feel stupid? I'm assuming Fictionpress is located in a time zone different from mine? I live in Michigan, in the good 'ole U.S. of A, and it's 12:15 here. But my post reads 9:15. Three hour time difference? Hmm, what can I do with that? We'll just have to see, I guess I'm editing, lol.7/7/2009 #329
I hope its not too late! I just found this and would love to try, so I'm hoping that we're running on West Coast time! In the likely event that I do not win, I will be happy to leave a in depth review for the winner of the contest.
