The year is 3010 A.D. The human race has expanded its reach beyond the boundries of the Solar System, and have began to expand outwards beyond our little part of the galaxy.
Using the space phenomina known as Wormholes, and our own technology known as Jump Drives, we have created the ability to travel between different areas in just an instant. The jump drives create temporary Wormholes that the craft enters, and upon reaching the other end, the wormhole collapses, leaving no trace of its existince behind. With this new travel technology, we felt our expansion was limitless.
Until we encountered a race we can only identify as 'The Hive.'
The first encounter was on the Borderworld colonies, our outmost worlds, living on the frontier. What few survivors were from that incident only called them 'The Hive', and said they looked like oversized insects and spiders. Their fleets are massive, their troops, plentiful. But, the human race would not be put out by insects.
Instead we rose to the challenge.
Now, we are entwined in a hazardous war, locked into a stalemate. It will only be a matter of time before one of the two races can't hold up. But who will fall first? The insects? Or the humans?7/15/2009 #1
After a short lived pre-tour ceremony, the Silvanus made the jump to the Vesuvias sector. A major sector in the war against the Hive. The Vesuvias sector is presummably the fastest way to the Hives homeworld, Ject (scientific name: Planet 04521). As the Silvanus groups up with the rest of her carrier group, operations begin immediately.
First things first: They need to gather information on the surrounding area, and the concentration of the Hive.8/15/2009 #2
