As his fingertips danced across her face, she blushed slightly. She moved closer to him, wanting nothing more than to be pressed against him. When his arms cacooned her, she relaxed into him. "Exhausted." She admitted, trying to hide a yawn with her dainty fingers. Pursing her lips together, she breathed in through her nostrils.

She reached up to brush her fingers through his hair. As her hand dropped, it slid against his muscular neck and finally resting on his chest. Her eyes slid closed, concealing the light from her jade eyes.

[Justin is so holding himsel back, once again. Haha!]

Justin smiled at he warm path her fingers left behind. He loved the way her touch burned his skin, boiling his blood seductively. Although he wanted much more than she was willing to give he only placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Sleep," he whispered in a hoarse voice. His body had been tired for quite a while. He closed his eyes, hoping she wouldn't be gone in the morning.

Aria shifted on the stiff mattress and snuggled against him. With her backside pressed against his crotch, she could feel the bulge behind the fabric of his fly. Her legs tangled with his. She remembered their first night together, when he said her skinny legs were a turn off. Tracing her fingertips across the back of his hand, she held his palm against her flat stomach.

She managed a weak smile.

Justin's eyes flashed open. The feel of her backside pressed against him, causing him even more discomfort. He liked this position all to much. "What are you doing?" he said slowly. Images scurried through his mind. It was far too inappropriate.

"Does it bother you?" She asked, glancing over her shoulder at him. She could see his pale blue eyes opened wide. "I could turn over." She moved to face him.

1/10/2010 #65

"Yeah, uh, that's better," he mumbled. Justin focused on the peach colored pillows, his body tense. He missed the closeness, but it really had been to tempting. It was better this way, he thought. He licked his lips and closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep.

Aria watched his pale blue eyes flutter closed. She studied him for a long moment, tracing his rough and handsome features. There was something about him. Something she could not explain. There was an attraction, like gravity pulling her in. She had only ever felt that feeling with one other person. "Do you feel it too?" She asked, aware of the constant heat from his strong arms.

1/10/2010 #67

"Arianna," he said in a warning tone. Justin released her, turning on his back. He stared at the ceiling, thinking back to a different time. If he mated with would be a disaster. He wasn't sure if he wanted to have that bond with her. What if something happened. If she died that would be it for him. In his pack, a male only mated once. Although he was now a rogue wolf the blood ties were still there. "Let's not go there," he said quietly. His body was now filled with a new tension.

"Oh." Arianna heard the strain in his voice. "Okay." She whispered in an equally soft tone, turning away from him again. Rather than pressing against him, she left a painful space between them. Swallowing hard, she shut her eyes and tried to sleep. She felt kind of stupid for bringing up her feelings. They obviously weren't mutual and the thought was somewaht difficult to swallow. She could get over it.

Justin huffed out an angry sigh. She didn't understand, and how could she? Arianna didn't have all the facts. He surrendered. Turning on his side he wrapped his arm over her, tracing patterns across her stomach. Justin propped himself up and trailed a line of kisses up her neck, pausing when he reached her ear. "I felt it from the moment I met you," he whispered. He kissed her neck, her cheek, her shoulder. Then he settled himself next to her, pulling her as close as possible.

As his warm kisses trailed down her neck, she shivered slightly. His words made her feel a bit more at ease. She intertwined her legs with his and shut her eyes, drifting slowly off to sleep. Being in his arms made everything okay.

Justin felt his heart reach a calming pace. He hadn't meant to upset her. Finally feeling at peace he fell asleep, holding her close the entire night.

Sunlight seeped in through the shutters over the window as Justin woke up. He groaned, as he took his time to open his eyes. He pulled the warm body closer to his, not realizing the morning wood until her backside pressed against it. He hissed, his hand tightening on her hip.

Aria startled awake, feeling his excitement press against her backside. When his fingers tightened around her hip, she bit back a yelp. Horrible memories from the previous day flickered through her mind. She blinked hard, pushing them away. Justin would never hurt her. She knew that. Filling her lungs with a deep breath, she turned around and crashed her lips against his.

1/10/2010 #74

Justin's eyes shot open wide. Now he hadn't expected that. Justin placed his hands on her hips, forcing her on her back. He hovered over her, moving his lips against hers in a soft, tempting caress. His tongue forced her mouth open, exploring. His shaft twitched against her inner thigh. Justin's hands began to wander, traveling up her stomach, his fingertips brushing the sides of her breasts.

His touch sent fires across her skin, which charged through the avenues beneath her skin and collected low in her stomach. "Justin." She gasped between eager kisses, feeling his length press into her thigh. Images of her encounter with the tracker pelted her mind. "I can't." She whispered against the demand of his mouth on hers. She shut her eyes tight, attempting to push him off. "I thought I could, but I can't." She whispered again, tears threatening her eyes.

1/10/2010 #76

Justin grunted and rolled over to the other side of the bed. He rubbed his hands over his face. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," he mumbled, angry at himself. He should have held back, but when she kissed him everything had changed. He wanted her too much. His expression was apologetic as he looked at her, keeping a safe distance.

"No, I'm sorry." She whispered, staring up at the ceiling. Reaching down with trembling hands, she pulled the blanket up to her chin. She turned her head, catching the sad gleam in his eyes. Sliding closer, she pressed her hand against his chest. His heartbeat raced through the tips of her fingers. She tuned into him and blinked away the tears.

1/10/2010 #78

Even through the material of his shirt he could feel the heat of her touch. His hand slid over her, his thumb rubbing circles on the back of her hand. His smile was soft. "It's not your fault." Justin broke eye contact, moving his eyes back to the ceiling. When had he become so soft? Justin never acted like this. He felt somewhat out of place in his own body. He wasn't sure whether he liked it or not. "I have to take a shower," he grumbled, letting go of her hand and leaving the bed.

Aria pulled her hand away, watching him slip from the bed. Her stomach grumbled, reminding her how long it had been since her last meal. Stretching out over the mattress, she felt the aches still residing in her muscles. She sat foward and pulled off the thin blankets, and swung her skinny legs over the side of the bed. With the blankets pulled back, she noticed a wet puddle of blood staining the mattress on his side of the bed. "How's your leg?" She asked, turning to him before he disapeared into the bathroom.

Justin stopped mid stride and turned to face her. His eyebrows scrunched together. Looking down at his jeans he noticed a dark red stain. He cursed and grumbled to himself. "I think it healed. It's sore, but fine." He glanced at Arianna. If only things were different, he thought to himself. Justin turned quickly on his heel and disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door. He started the shower and undressed while he waited for the water to heat up. Sure enough the wound had healed, the hint of a tiny scar occupying it's place. He turned his face away from it, stepping into the shower.

Aria recognized a certain distance in Justin. When he shut the bathroom door, she frowned. Rising to her feet, she crossed the room to her duffel and pulled out a long sleeve shirt and pair of jeans. As she stripped out of her pajamas, she tried her best to ignore the painful reaction in her muscles.

Pulling her hair back in a ponytail, she studied the purple bruise that had formed on her jaw. Deep circles framed her jade eyes, which were still puffy from crying. Her stomach let out a loud growl, letting her know she needed food. Glancing at the bathroom door, she listened to the water running. She figured she could make the morning a little less awkward for both of them. She dug in her bag for a wad of money and stuck it in her pocket, grabbing her jacket on the way out the door.

Justin stayed in the shower until the water ran cold down his spine. He ran his hands through his wet hair. His mind circle around Arianna. What, if anything, would happen between them? He wondered if it was even possible to mate with her. She'd already had the love of her life. Justin knew he was no omparison. He could still see the pained love in her eyes. She didn't even have to say anything for him to understand how deep her love went. He stepped out of the shower and dried off, taking his time. His chest was cold, empty. Just like it had been since Anna. Except Aria seemed to change that. She left him feeling warm, happy. Complete.

Could it be possible that he had finally found on his true mate? He shook his head with a snort. No, that wasn't in the cards for him.

Aria walked into the bedroom, tossing the keys on the dresser. She caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror and scowled. The bruise had gotten worse. She ran her fingers over the sensative area and winced. Her body should have been healing. Justin was already healed from his wound. Of course, he was a pure bred. She was a mongrel.

The thought hit her suddenly, the gears clicking into place. Justin was a pure bred and she was a mongrel. He must have been able to sense that. Her eyes burned, but she refused to blink away the tears. Moving across the room, she hoisted her duffel onto the bed. She proceeded to through her crumpled up clothes into the canvas bag.

Her feelings were something to be afraid of. They could never be real. Not with Justin.

Justin pulled on his boxers, realizing he hadn't brought his clothes. He ran a hand through his wet hair, water droplets falling on his chest and shoulders. He walked casually out of the bathroom, halting his steps once he crossed the threshold. Arianna had her duffel bag on the bed, stuffing her belonging into it. Justin's jaw tightened as he watched her, knowing he would let her go. "Where are you going?" His voice had no emotion as he put up his walls.

Aria glanced up at him, her jade eyes brimming. She noticed the question mark placed over his left collar bone, printed awfully close to his heart. She knew he had one, regardless of whether he knew it himself. She swallowed a wave of emotion, pausing her efforts. There was a distinct hint of detatchment in his voice. "I--" She hesitated, taking another approach. "My heart is about to shatter, Justin. I can't stand to have it broken again." She admitted, though it was difficult.

She watched the droplets of water glisten over his sun-kissed skin, dripping from his shaggy hair. Her heart seized, waiting for him to say something--anything.

1/11/2010 #86

Justin couldn't speak, unsure of what to say. He understood all too well what she was saying. His arms were slack at his sides as he gazed out the window. His inner wolf howled, begging for a release. Somehow he kept himself at bay. Justin's soul was craving her. He needed to be near her. Justin couldn't explain it. He'd only ever felt this with Anna, but that wasn't meant to be. Neither were him and Aria. Although he wasn't certain on the subject. Despite his inner being Justin decided he had to let her go. It wasn't possible for him to support her. They weren't supposed to be together. She was just another woman. He kept telling himself that, over and over. Not once did he believe it.

Suddenly, Justin channelled a different side of him, the image he hid behind. He cracked a smile, passing it off as genuine. His blue eyes lit up. "Hey, baby, it was never anything serious in the first place." He leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms over his chest. "It's too bad. I was hoping to get to know you a little better," he said with a wink. Justin felt terrible inside, but his guard was up. He would sink back into his old self, his old life. He would forget Aria. Her smell, her touch, the way she made him feel. Justin would do what he had come here to do in the first place. Aria was nothing, he told himself. Just another obstacle in his journey.

Her heart exploded into a million tiny pieces. She inhaled a shaky breath, trying to ignore his hurtful words. She did everything to avoid his gaze. Her hands trembled as she stuffed a wrinkled pair of jeans into the duffel and zipped it up. She lifted the canvas strap over her shoulder and walked towards the door. "Then maybe you should have taken your turn after the tracker." She pushed out of the room, leaving him behind.

She told herself this is what she wanted. She needed to get away from him. Her body threatened to collapse with grief, but she refused to give him that much. She refused to let him see how painful the words were to accept.

[:( Sad...]

As soon as she shut the door Justin came undone. His heart unraveled like a ball of string until there was nothing left. A striking pain pierced his body. His stomach bundled into a series of knots, a provoked ache cast through his bones. His knees quivered, unable to keep him up any longer. He cried out in a low moan as he fell to his knees, panting for breath. "Arianna," he whimpered, gripping his chest. Justin closed his eyes, his jaw clenched shut. His bones rattled, his heart ceased to beat. Everything was gone. He had never felt such agony in all his life, and he instantly knew the cause. This was what it felt like when one met his true mate, and he had lost her. Justin felt the undying need to run after her and take her in his arms, whether she wanted to go or not. It was a raw need. Something he would kill for. Yet he was still conflicted as he clung to every last part of his humanity. The wolf would not win. His scream ripped through the air as the wolf fought for dominance.

1/11/2010 #89

"Oh, God," he ground out through gritted teeth. The wolf's claws raked down his chest, shaking in it's cage. He wanted to be released, to chase after his mate. Justin propelled himself off the floor, staggering through the room. The wolf rejoiced. Only Justin knew the truth of the matter. He could surrender to the wolf completely, or he could compromise. Either way Justin would lose. He would be with Arianna, if she would have him. Letting her see him vulnerable and broken was the most frightening thought. He'd rather die than let her in. After all, he had made that mistake once before and it got him nowhere.

Justin slammed the door behind him as he left the room, barely able to stand on his own two feet.
