Asher smiled at her, lifting the drink in a toasting manner. Some of it spilled onto the bar as he pulled it his lips. The alcohol burned down his throat, but it wasn't as strong as the burning for blood. ''Thanks.'' He said, setting the glass back on the counter. ''I must be going.'' Asher rose from the stood, stumbling slightly. He caught himself on the bar, ''I'll see you later Erin.'' Asher smiled a charming smile, before heading for the door.

"Later," she called as he went out the door and turned back to her tasks.

Asher waved over his shoulder, stumbling out the door.

Derik let out a sigh and finished his drink.

*Aria and Justin from Alleyway*

Justin laughed loudly, attracting attention from a few grumpy elves in the bar. "Something as powerful as you is afraid of spiders and motorcycles. I'll be damned," he said, still laughing.

Aria let the words soak in, not really finding it as funny as he did. She rehearsed his words in her head, as powerful as you. The words stung slightly. She considered telling him that she was only half werewolf, a mongrel, but the idea scared her to the core If she admitted that to him, he might just decide to end their bond. She could not bear to have that happen. "Yeah." She laughed instead, a little less enthusiastically, and headed to the bar.

1/22/2010 #66

[Lol. I made him say that on purpose. :) ]

Justin got the feeling she was bothered by something he had said, but brushed it off. His hand was on the small of her back as he ordered a few shots of whiskey. Her scent wafted in the air and he stood closer. Being near her made him feel like a different man, a better man. For the first time in a long while he felt truly happy. No one would take that away from him. He'd be sure of it. He pressed his nose against her hair, inhaling her scent.

[[I figured you did. Haha. You're so EVIL!]]

Aria melted into him, feeling his hand graze along her back. She gritted her teeth against a moan, imagining his hands dipping lower. Reaching for the shotglass, she smiled up at him. "I love you." She whispered softly.

[Sorry about bad post.]]

1/22/2010 #68

[That was NOT a bad post, and yes, I am! Mwahahaha!!!]

He smirked, feeling like a teenager. It was all so cliche, but Justin didn't care. He had Aria, and that was all that mattered, other than her happiness. He kissed her cheek and whispered "I love you, too." He clinked his shot glass against hers with a wink. Justin threw his head back and swallowed the whiskey, slamming it down on the counter. "Another." He grinned at Aria, the old light shining in his eyes. It had been so long since he'd felt free. From everything. He felt as if he was being himself for the first time since he was nineteen years old.

Aria did the same, throwing back the shot and letting the alcohol burn down her throat. She wanted to tell Justin about her past, but figured it would be best to wait. He knew the roughest details. He knew about Paden, that was all that really mattered. That and the fact that she wasn't a full-blooded werewolf. She tried to justify not telling him. She knew absolutely nothing about him. It seemed only fair.

When the bartender set down two more shots of whiskey, she threw back another.

1/22/2010 #70

[Forgive me, but I'm skipping a little in time.]

Justin took another shot of whiskey, and then another. He kept drinking until his head spun. Laugh for no apparent reason, he wandered over to a booth, pulling Aria along with him. He plopped down with a grun and pressed his lips to Aria's. The kiss was rough and eager, but Justin pulled away before things could progress. "I have to tell you something," he whispered.

Aria purred her excitement into his mouth, nipping at his bottom lip as he pulled away. She could taste the whiskey when he kissed her. When he pulled away, she was left wanting more. She somehow managed to resist throwing herself at him. The alcohol moved through her system, enhancing every feeling and sensation.

She raised an eyebrow when he spoke, sliding closer to him in the booth. Her fingers found his, melting together. She didn't like the sound of, I have to tell you something. But, she pushed her fear away.

His fingers played with her hand clumbsily as he spoke, looking into Aria's eyes. "Remember when I said I was in Paden's place before? Well, I want to tell you about you understand. Her name was Anna," Justin told her, his voice low. The feelings that surfaced were dulled down by his love for Arianna, but the ache was still there. And it was still painful.

When the woman's name left his lips, she felt a twinge of jealousy. She cast her eyes down for a brief moment, then lifted them to meet him again. He was telling her something personal, something from his pass. She figured her turn would be next. She swallowed the knot forming in her throat. "I's not her, Justin. I would never purposely hurt you." Aria gripped his fingers tighter.

1/22/2010 #74

Justin shook his head and kissed Aria's fingers. "I know that now, I think. I was nineteen when we met. She was already married. Oh and she was nine years older than me. We were just friends at first. Her husband barely paid any attention to her. It was a forced mating. Anna had been with him for ten years. I tried to fight my feelings for her, but I couldn't. One day she told me that she was unhappy when she was with him, but I made everything feel right. Things changed after that." Justin stopped speaking and cleared his throat. His emotions were building up as he remembered the past He looked into Aria's eyes, finding strength in her. He continued.

"Anna was married to the alpha of our neighboring pack. When he found out about us he beat her. I took her to our special place in the forest that night. She stayed up crying all night. I couldn't console her. Weeks passed and we barely saw each other. I felt like I was dying without her." Justin frowned and stared at their their hands intertwined. He knew that Aria meant more to him than Anna, that Aria was his true mate, but Anna had been his first love. No one ever forgets their first.

Aria sat silently, listening to his story. The seriousness of the moment was quite sobering, despite the alcohol pulsing through her veins. When he finished, she leaned into him and wrapped her arms around his torso. She pressed her face into his chest. "Do you still love her?" She asked, though it was difficult. She didn't know whether she wanted to hear the answer.

1/22/2010 #76

His fingers traced patterns on her back. Justin knew the answer to her questions, but she didn't want to hear it. He couldn't keep it from her though. It wasn't right. "Yes," he said softly. "She was my first everything. I will always love her, but I'm not in love with her. I'm in love with you," He whispered, his cheek resting against her head.

Aria found the words difficult to swallow. She inhaled a deep breath, struggling with her own conscience. "There's something I should probably tell you, too." She pulled away from him, averting her gaze to the table. Of all the thigs she had told him, about Paden, about Logan, about being afraid of the dark. This would probably be the most difficult. She was afraid she might lose him.

1/22/2010 #78

"Okay," Justin said, watching her closely. He knew whatever it was that he would be able to deal with it. He had to. For Aria.

Aria hesitated, chewing on her bottom lip. Her jade eyes moved back to him. "Earlier when you said, as powerful as you..." She took a deep breath, realizing it would be easier to just spit out. "My mom is human."

1/22/2010 #80

Justin sat there for a minute, thinking it over. Human? The more he thought about it the less he cared. Justin chuckled, squeezing her hand in his. "I don't see how that's a problem." He scooted closer to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "I come from a pack that's all about tradition, but I never cared about that. I don't care who or what your parents are, as long as you're happy." He shrugged.

"So what if you're only half wolf. You're still my Aria," he said softly. He wondered how his uncle would react if he found out about Justin and Aria. Justin knew the outcome wouldn't be good. Hopefully, no one would ever find out about them.

Aria felt like a weight had been lifted from her heart. She almost laughed, realizing how stupid she had been for letting it bother her. She hugged him around the waist, her vision blurring slightly. The alcohol was starting to settle, making it hard to concentrate. When he spoke, she became distracted by his lips. She reached out to touch his face, feeling the stubble prickle against her fingers.

A smile twitched across her lips. He made her happy, though she could not explain the reasons. Just being with him, being close to him. She didn't need to say it again, but she loved him. She hoped he knew that.

1/22/2010 #82

Justin kissed her cheek. "You're everything to me, Aria. Something like that would never keep me from you. Nothing will," he whispered. He had let go of Anna years ago and it had nearly ruined him. Justin was sure that if him and Aria were separated he might as well be dead. A life without her wasn't living at all. He held Aria closer to him, breathing in her scent.

"There's more," he whispered, not quite sure how to tell her this part. He'd never told anyone, never even said it out loud. If she was going to be his mate then Aria needed to know every detail.

Aria swallowed, trying not to show that his words made her uncomfortable. She dreaded hearing anything else, but she pushed her fear aside. "Okay?" She snuggled into his chest, listening to the beat of his heart.

1/24/2010 #84

Justin brushed his fingers through her hair. He hoped Aria would forgive him. "One night I was waiting for her at our place in the woods, a neutral ground between my pack and hers. Anna ran into my arms, sobbing so violently I thought I was going to cry too. After hours of holding her and trying to soothe the ache in her chest she told me the news. Anna was pregnant." He stopped and cleared away the tightness in his throat.

"When a wolf's mate gets pregnant by another wolf, they're forced into an abortion. I didn't want her to do it. I begged her to run away with me, but she said no. Anna told me that she had a duty to her pack. We fought until she told me to leave. I didn't. Instead, after the sun had risen, I went to face her husband. I challenged him and I lost. I was inexperienced so it wasn't a surprise, but I had hoped that my love for Anna would give me a new strength. The last time I saw Anna she was weeping on her knees. I was escorted off their territory." Justin's heart pounded in his chest as he remembered the day like it had just happened. Everything was coming back.

"My child would be four years old now," he whispered. Tears seeped down his cheeks. Ashamed, Justin turned his face away from Aria and released her from his hold. He was supposed to be strong, consoling her. It was the first time he had cried since the night he left Anna.

Aria felt him grow tense, felt him pulling away from her. "Justin." She whispered, looking up at him. His gaze averted from hers. She could see the tears welling in his pale blue eyes. Scooting closer, she slid onto his lap. Her hand carressed the side of his face, wiping the moisture from his cheek with her thumb. "I'm so sorry." She whispered, draping her arms around his neck. She pressed her lips to his cheek.

She could not even begin to imagine his pain. He had lost so much.

1/24/2010 #86

Justin wrapped his arms around her waist. The old pain and memories dispersed as her love and warmth replaced them. "Me too," he said in a soft voice. The tears stopped as he held her. His stomach growled and he chuckled. "Don't they serve hot wings here?" he mumbled, trying to change the subject.

"You're still hungry?" She laughed, though she could probably eat again. She planted a kiss on his lips, moving to scoot out of the booth. "You order some wings. I need another drink."

1/24/2010 #88

Justin followed her out of the booth. "Just don't drink too much. You're a skinny little thing. I don't think you can hold too much alcohol." He grinned, pecking her on the cheek and went to the bar. He ordered some wings, barbecue and something spicy.

Aria smirked, heading towards the bar. She waved for the attention of the bartender and leaned into the bar. "Can I get a bottle of Landshark? You can put it on his tab." She pointed down the bar to Justin.

The bartender nodded, returning a few moments later with the bottle. She took a sip and strolled back to Justin, pinching his rear playfully. She could feel the alcohol chanelling through her viens. The wolf was closer to the surface when she drank, waiting for her control to crumble.
