Every Two months Labyrinth will hold a writing contest based off of a prompt from a list below.

- The entry links must be sent to TanteLiz in a PM.

- The WINNER will have a choice to promote either their winning story or one of their other stories listed in their profile.

CURRENT CONTEST FOR June 2016:

'A Midsummer Night's Dream Sequence.'

Write a 3k story in which your character is having a very odd dream

- or a nightmare.

CONTEST RULES

1. Submissions must be in the 3000 word range.

2. Submissions must be relevant to the current prompt.

3. Submissions must be acceptable to fit the T rating.

4. All Forum members are urged to enter, and are encouraged to invite other writers to submit their work

5. Entries are accepted from the first day of the month of the contest up until midnight, Central Standard Time, on the cut-off date. Voting will not open until after the cut-off.

6. Read ALL entries before voting.

7. Any Forum Member can vote, even if they are not entering the competition.

8. Contestants cannot vote for their own entry.

9. The voting spread will be published in the Writing Contest thread, and the winner will be given a turn in the Spotlight for a story of their choice.

10. All Contestant entrants must Review the winner's Spotlight story.

11. State the writing prompt in your story in an Author's Note or in the summary. Also in the summary, state that this is a Labyrinth writing contest.

12. At the end of the contest, all entries will be added to the Community Labyrinthos.

Entrants are encouraged, but not required, to review the other entries as a courtesy to their peers.

So again, lets see a show of who's participating. The latest I'll allow someone to enter is Wednesday. After that you'll have to wait for the next prompt to be put up.

@Timone, I don't have the prompt yet. But up there it says you have until Wednesday to decide on entering, so you'll have a two days after the prompt is already up.

Actually since this is just the first time, I can pick a prompt and show you in a bit. Would that be better? However, next time I wont post it until Monday.

And tomorrow I'll make another post officially stating the prompt along with the rules. Yay or Nay?

Sure. How long will the contest be going on?

OK Prompt will go up on Monday. Once you finish your story you send me the link. You MUST send the link by FRIDAY or your story won't be available for voting. So that's 5 days to write the story.

Then people will have the weekend to vote on them in a poll and by Monday the winner will be chosen. So all in all it's a week for everything.

Yes it's due by the coming up Friday, but you can send me the link if it's finished before that. I'll probably start putting up the entries I have on Thursday night but by Friday they all have to be in.

The preview of the prompt is not the entire prompt, am I correct?

nUmbra's story had my vote for sure. I used this to help break my writer's block and it worked. I am sad that only nine people voted though. Demerits to non-participants! Demerits!
