![]() Author has written 6 stories for Manga. I will make an effort to return reviews, and am putting out the reviews to prove it, but I'm not making a promise out of this. Of course if you review or respond in some other way it will get my attention and I do prioritize returned reviews. I am here to post stories. I am trying to get people to read and review my stories. I want to share ideas not just keep them to myself. I check out this site (my profile and the Manga section) about every day to check on reception of my stories and what's posted. I'm going to try to post more regular reviews weekly for now. On my writing: I love fight scenes and 'power battle' series. I like to describe the entire progression of the fights and use the blows and the approaches to convey struggle, character, intent, motivation, and themes. If you want to read or chat about a battle between power users I'm your man. I create my own world with its own terms, history, ways of doing things for each story. I also like to incorporate the special powers/magic system(s) of the characters into how the world works in my world-building. Everything I have written is intended to be long. I have a few big projects currently in the works (including some RPGs I'm making), but I only publish once I'm far enough in I feel comfortable uploading the content. Everything I've written is pictured in my head as anime hence why I post everything in the closest section: Manga. This is why I have a lot of color descriptions of things even when Manga are known for being black-and-white. I like to focus on what happens in a story and character actions first before things like character depth or personality because I believe actions and what happens naturally convey personality and true depth. So if you want to impress me, have stuff happen not just be talked about. I deliberately try to do things differently than what I see in the norm, though this often results in long set ups for story premises. I also try to learn from my mistakes and do better moving forward. I hate being unclear. If anything is unclear in my stories please let me know. I love feedback. Any and all would be appreciated. My favorite would be reviews. My critique philosophy: Every story has its goals it's trying to accomplish. Not all are the same. Just because a detail works best in my story doesn't mean all stories should do things that way. Thus I believe the best stories are the ones that convey their goals well. If I say I don't like something don't mistake that for saying it's bad. Don't worry, I don't have to like everything. If I comment on this it the element in question might be intended to be unliked by the reader to some capacity. (This will be rare) My current critique style: I give an abridged version of the chapter first in an overly-simplified explanation of what all happens in the chapter. Then I give normal personal notes about aspects that stood out to me usually stuff I found unclear, comments on the tone, or what I just personally liked about the chapter. At the end I add my favorite part of the chapter. For a first chapter I will often present what your story seems to be like. This covers the tone and focus that I'm getting from this opening chapter that I will count on to get an idea for what your story will be like. (Of course a pilot arc can cover 2 chapters so I'll consider that when it happens as well) The point of this style is to present it as I see it so you can see if my description matches your vision. I don't judge on good vs bad (directly at least). To that end I will try to focus on clarity and following your own rules and themes that you established. I will be more likely to be harsher on later chapters because they would have the most set up that you could potentially contradict. That being said, I do try to keep it positive in general because I think that is more useful for writing in general. Posted Story Status/Personal Comments: Paradox Quest: It's done at least for now though a book 2 is being drafted. I've been very excited to publish this one. It takes to chapter 16 to establish the initial premise. It will not be marked as complete so I can fix grammar/spelling mistakes and small continuity problems I may find. I would love feedback for Paradox Quest. Beyond the Final Arc: I'm reworking the first few chapters among working on the other stories. Updates will occur based on when they're finished. This story is definitely the strangest one I've published here. It starts on a 'final battle' arc and is meant to use tropes, cliches, and flashbacks to establish itself and mess with the reader's expectations when it goes in a different direction. It is meant to be quite silly in places but kind of serious in others. Not intended to be uploaded on a consistent schedule. Buff Battle Girl Trinity: The 4th arc needs more time to be finished so weekly updates of this are on hold. This story takes 6 chapters to set up the main premise of the 3 main characters. The description of this one will update with each new arc. The main characters are OP in this and to make it so talent/abilities themselves are their source of in-universe attention, why they're the protagonists, and a simplifier for the flow of the plot. Duels of Wishes: Current set of uploads are complete for this. More will be on the way once they're ready. Old Stories: Crimson Fighters & Mage Knights: These were written and all the chapters are posted on DeviantArt, but I'm not liking them as much as when I first wrote them so I have no plans to post all the chapters here. They were a learning experience for me at least. Online I go by Lv27MarkerMan sometimes, most notably on Youtube where I mostly make Let's Play videos of a wide variety of mostly old-school games. |
