Author has written 4 stories for Sci-Fi.
Greetings. I never know what to write in these profile things...they always seem too short, but I don't want them to run on too long either. Ah, screw it. Here goes!
About me: My name is Josh, and as you might imagine, I'm a young writer who needs an outlet for my ideas. Eventually, I was led to this lovely hub of creativity. My interests are kind of all over the map. I enjoy JAR Media, Community, Marvel Comics, Transformers, Fallout, Dungeons and Dragons, K-Pop, and all things English from The Inbetweeners to Sherlock. I truly wish to hone my craft since everything I know is self-taught from years of wasted time watching TV and playing video games, so any and all feedback will be taken on board. Don't hold back on criticisms! I love interacting with my audience and I'm always up for a chat, so feel free to PM me or contact my Gmail account, crapnuggets202 (my friend named it, okay?) for those things.
Self-promos: Be sure to check out my community: The All-Star Multiverse! Also, more importantly, I have a Facebook page (again)! I'm actually going to put some real effort into this page this time, so please look up 'PancakeOverdose' on Facebook and give my page a like! There, you can get updates on when the new chapters of stories come out, see gorgeous fanart, and help me get more exposure. Also also, I've got a Fanfiction.net account where I'm currently doing an Avengers fic that I add to whenever I have time free to write but not so much time to finish a Crusaders chapter to my stupidly high self-imposed standards, so check that out for the occasional spot of Marvel fun.
Regarding rewrites: In light of the completion of The Crusaders: Volume 1, I've decided in my egotistical perfectionism to go back through everything I've written so far and polish off the myriad grammar fails, fix wonky prose, correct formatting errors. expand on certain story elements, and spruce up spots of dialogue here and there to get the best I can get out of the story. Which means I'll be trolling through over 250,000 words. Which means you better appreciate the lot of it, you bastards (just kidding, you're great). Rest assured to people who've already been through it all, the basic events and heart of the story won't change.Completed rewriting: The Crusaders: Rising Star, The Crusaders: Volume 1 Chapters 46/63 Currently rewriting: The Second Planetary War Part 2 of The Crusaders: Volume 1 (Chapter 47) Upcoming new content: Wavebreaker Part 4 of The Crusaders: Volume 2
Favourite People (not necessarily in any order):Casey Tyler - One of my top fans and a lovely-if-a-little-wacky young girl who brightens my day with her adorably written reviews and just started a kickass new story! Wintershadow35/Winter - Another invaluable fan and insightful, more-than-vaguely tomboyish young lady who always gives me solid feedback and even more will to write! SnarkyScribe/Chris - A more recent fan, a fellow reader of TV Tropes, and a self-proclaimed 'amateur writer' who also has his own story going that you really ought to check out. Tiamatty - The hyper-dedicated fellow superhero story writer who was kind enough to allow me to use his characters for a special crossover story.
"Having devoured 30,000 years worth of stories and songs - and having read and watched and listened to everything from The Maxims of Ptahhotep to Infinite Jest - it's only now that I've come to realize three things - three bold and shining truths that I'll carry with me forever. One: Life is inherently tragic, and over far too quickly. Two: All art thrives on conflict. We valorise fiction because it helps us make sense of ourselves. Three: Season 4 of Community was a serious misstep." - Swerve, Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye.
"Here's a little—whatever. A little thing. A disclosure. An insight. Revisionism—I've always been fascinated by it. By the idea of a writer going back and altering things. Make no mistake: an edit is a profoundly aggressive act. As Froid once said, we grieve for the murdered word. If you want to get the measure of an author, don't look at what they've left on the page...look at what they've taken away." - Rung, Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye.
"We are the only species on Earth that observe "Shark Week." Sharks don't even observe "Shark Week", but we do. For the same reason I can pick up this pencil, tell you its name is Steve and go like this (breaks pencil)...and part of you dies, just a little bit on the inside: because people can connect with anything. We can sympathize with a pencil, we can forgive a shark, and we can give Ben Affleck an Academy Award for Screenwriting.” - Jeff Winger, Community.
"Chaos already dominates enough of our lives. The universe is an endless, raging sea of randomness. Our job isn't to fight it but to weather it together on the raft of life. A raft held together by those few, rare, beautiful things that we know to be predictable." - Abed Nadir, Community.
"It's not your life, it's life. Life is bigger than you. Life isn't something you possess, it's something that you take part in and you witness." - Louis CK.
"A lot of people will say, like, I'm an aspiring artist, or I'm an aspiring writer. No. You're a writer. If you're doing that shit every day, that's what you are." - Danny, Game Grumps.
"It's very easy to act like a jerk, and then say, "Well, I'm a jerk, so that's that." But it's not like being a bloody werewolf, is it? It's just you making excuses for your excuses." - Dirk Gently, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Thanks for reading, and take care.
