I don't have much to say about myself except I'm a writer/artist always looking to improve. Growing up, I've always been interested in cartoons and animation, that I can say it's heavily influenced my writing. Feedback really means a lot to me. Unless it's a one-word comment like "cool" or "nice". It just comes off as lazy, it doesn't help me at all, and it gives me the impression that you didn't read the story in the first place. Comments like "this is good" or "this needs some work" will be ignored, please be specific but not to the point where you have to pick apart everything. Being vague in general doesn't help me either and I can imagine that plenty of artists feel the same way. It's annoying to receive a pointless comment on something you've worked very hard on. And please no "lol random XD" reviews. By that I mean, nothing that will annoy me and make me lose brain cells from reading.
Feedback is more important to me than just views, follows, and favorites. I'm offering review for reviews. You'll most likely find me in the review thread at The Roadhouse. It's pretty self-explanatory. If I give you a review, I expect one from you in return. Especially if I've reviewed multiple chapters, I would expect you to have the decency to give me the same number of reviews. I don't like the idea of doing something for nothing. I've had people take advantage of my kindness in the past, but now I don't have the patience for it. Don't thank me in a PM, thank me with a review. Going to add this as well because I told someone off for doing this, if you say you're going to review something, then DO IT. I have very little patience for people who say they'll do something, but they don't. Just a warning, I may be harsh when giving a critique. I won't give you praise unless I feel you deserve it. You might disagree with what I say, but hopefully, you'll take what I said to heart. Don't post something online if you don't want honest feedback on it. If I review something and you delete your story afterward, it just shows that you're pathetic and, furthermore, ungrateful that I took time out of my day to try to help you.
When I review, I look for grammar/punctuation errors, if the characters are well-introduced, the amount of effort put into the narration and dialogue, and if the story itself piques my interest or not. While I'm a writer who wants to improve, I'm also doing this for fun, so don't expect me to be familiar with terms like hooks or perspective. I like to write, but it's only a hobby for me. I could be an aspiring author who takes everything, including themselves, too seriously, but I won't.
