Author has written 1 story for Supernatural.
Hello, my name is James. I am the author of The Afterlife Chronicles series. As of now, there are four books expected. Whether or not the whole collection will be posted on here is up in the air. I may try to have the books published at some point in the distant future, but for now, just like any other hungry for attention writer, I just want to be read. If you read what I post - awesome. If you like it - great! If not - that's fine too. We all have different tastes; different strokes for different folks; some people prefer Coke, some people prefer Pepsi, fill in your own analogy here. I just ask if you're going to review something to remember this: constructive criticism goes a long way. Much further then just saying, "You suck, loser!" But your choice of criticism is your own.
A little background on why I'm posting on here. The Afterlife Chronicles has been my baby since I was around fifteen years old (I'm now 30.) Finally in 2012, I decided, I'm going to get the gears rolling and try to publish this book! And that I did. Self-publish, at least. It was very costly, between the cover art, the ISBN, the editor, who was the costliest. I think she took advantage of my ignorance towards how much an editor should charge; a person to convert the file for Kindle and iTunes, who was friends with my editor and also a world-class charlatan as well. The conversion was riddled with formatting issues. Eventually she basically just said, deal with it. I finally published the first novel, the one that is on here, in December of 2013. To dismal results! Of course, being an unknown author, this should be expected. I did manage to sell a few books, but it was mostly to family and friends. I did sell some e-book versions, but I never received many reviews. I also tried doing giveaways on Goodreads to minor success. I didn't get one bad review, so that's good. Eventually though, I would sign a contract with someone I knew who was starting his own publishing company, so I was finally relieved I was getting out of the self-publishing game, but that plan didn't pan out well either. The good ol', the grass isn't always greener on the other side. That side of the story, I'd rather keep to myself. But to put the point in bold, I WANTED TO BE READ. I wanted my stories to have eyes on them. I had this site on the back burner for years. Had it on my bookmarks for years. Finally, I decided, fine, if i have to go down the free-route, so be it.
And here we are and hopefully you're those eyes looking at said work and I thank you for that. I will try my best to entertain you: make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry (at a character. Not at me, hopefully). As long as I'm getting some kind of emotion out of you, I know I'm doing my job.
Feel free to follow me on here. Symbol of the Dead is completely written, I just have to publish it on here. Expect the whole book to be published on here quickly, so if you enjoy what you read, make sure to favorite me or the story, or both!
