About the Author

Michael Anhalt is a retired Navy Officer with 23 years of service rising through enlisted ratings to the senior officer ranks with tours of duty on various ships including two submarines, a dive salvage ship, a destroyer, an ammunition transport ship, a frigate XO, a destroyer XO, and an Amphibious command and control ship.

After retiring Michael continued to support the Navy for 23 years by developing the Join Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) training system, the Navy’s primary simulation use in distributed Operational and Tactical training for ships and military shore commands located around the world. He planned for and conducted hundreds of large Joint military training events for the Navy, Marine, Air Force, Army, other Department of Defense agencies, and international Coalition partners.

Michael has a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology and is a Silvermine College of Art and Maryland Institute College of Arts graduate and alumni. He is a painter, sculptor, and writer. Michael and his wife, Donna live on their ranch in Southern California near their two daughters, Mandy and Marni.
