Author has written 4 stories for Song, and Supernatural.I try to be as imaginative as possible when coming up with work, attempting to include a variety of themes in my designs and images. While much of my work is done digitally using the computer, I try to incorporate as many different media as possible, experimenting with collage, drawing, and recently typography. One of my main interests is Cartooning, and since I am a fan of syndicated American cartoon strips (Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, Liberty Meadows by Frank Cho, Lenore by Roman Dirge etc) I draw my own strips in my spare time, which are released online. I have two main websites, one an online portfolio for my work (The Wormhole), another for my less formal cartoon work (Morbido). Both are managed and designed by me, and are regularly updated.
I’m genuinely interested in illustration for magazines and websites, and am a regular reader of specialist magazines such as Computer Arts and Mac Format. Based on the work I did in A level Media Studies, I have begun plans for a small online magazine, which I will be releasing more information on in the future. With the software contained within these magazines along with their tutorials, I have developed my technical skills considerably, something which I am constantly attempting to do so. I often spend spare time online running through tutorials for computer-aided artwork, hunting down different examples of artists who interest me, and attempt to emulate their style in my subsequent work.
My major inspiration comes from both a mixture of comics, cartoons, illustrations and books by various writers. As well as being an illustrator I’m in the process of writing a collection of short stories, illustrated by myself and contained on my primary site. Due to the wide range of interests I have, I attempt to find an application for all of them so that even while at home relaxing, watching T.V. or going online, in essence I am always in a state of research.
