Author has written 2 stories for Young Adult.

Survived the days of box TVs, Windows Vista, MS Clippy, bird flu, swine flu, four years in college, and now currently surviving COVID-19. What can I say? Here are some facts about me:

Favorite modern song: Demons (Imagine Dragons) -- the lyrics hit much harder ten years later.

Favorite classical (a.k.a. written by some old dude in a powdered wig) song: Fantasie Impromptu (Chopin)

Favorite TV show: Doctor Who

Favorite movie: Like Sunday, Like Rain

Favorite designer: Lee McQueen

Wattpad: Turtles5188

I'm also willing to be a beta-reader; just PM me first. I'm not picky about genre or anything because I believe in writers helping each other get better.

THE GREEN BINDER: Literary/contemporary; full manuscript complete (~98k words); will update once a week

SCORPIO: Contemporary/sci-fi/romance; full manuscript complete, but may undergo major edits (currently ~80k words); will probably update once a month

The greatest reveals in pop culture of all time, ranked:

1. "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die" -- Inigo Montoya as he's closing in with a rapier blade on his lifelong enemy.

2. "Luke, I am your father." -- Darth Vader in his classic gravelly voice

3. "You're a wizard, Harry!" -- Hagrid the giant to a stunned, bespectacled orphan

4. I AM NUMBER FOUR (couldn't resist that one )

5. Hopefully, I'll write something that can eke in right here. Already planning something (a.k.a. Green Binder version 3.0)

Favorite books:

After re-reading bits of MR and Twilight because...ya know?...boredom during quarantine does funny things to your brain, I decided to separate out my list of favorite books into two lists. This is primarily because my favorite books from my childhood hold a special place in my heart, but returning to them about ten years later really made me cringe at what I had liked about them to begin with. Anyways...

[A] Favorite books from my childhood (in no particular order):
~ Everyday (David Levithan) ... Haven't re-read this yet, and probably won't in the future because I read this book at least five times over the course of one week my freshman year of high school after an exceptionally good friend graduated, and I want to keep that memory golden.

~ Maximum Ride series (but only up to Angel because the philosophical differences between JP and I are irreconcilable after that... Let's NEVERMORE talk about Nevermore) ... Was literally questioning my book choices as a teenager after re-reading the first 30 pages of this. I was like, WHY? WHY? Why did you think this was good writing back then? Then again, still a charming series.

~ Harry Potter series (the-author-who-need-not-be-named) ... May move this to list [B]; haven't re-read yet but am expecting good things.

~ Legend series (Marie Lu) ... Haven't re-read yet

[B] Favorite books from more recently (in no particular order):
~ The Princess Bride (William Golding) ... "Hello. I am Inigo Montoya..." Y'all know what comes next ;)

~ Fashion Climbing (Bill Cunningham) ... About a near-penniless milliner making ostentatious hats for constipated Hamptons ladies.

~ The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath) ... YESYESYES! Know the author has wicked good poetry, but this is an absolutely WONDERFUL book!

~ Tess of d'Urbervilles (Thomas Hardy) ... Gets a lot of flak from kids who were assigned to read it for English (I was never assigned this book), but I love the story. Goes really well with Fantasie Impromptu, by the way.

~ Les Misérables (Victor Hugo) ... This book will BLOW. YOUR. MIND.

Best books-to-songs match-ups (IMO):

~ Max x Fang from Maximum Ride = "Stand by You," Rachel Platten ("And love if your wings are broken, please take mine 'til yours can open, too...")

~ Grace x Sam from Shiver = "Wolves," Selena Gomez ("I've been crying with the wolves to get to you...")

~ Bella x Edward from Twilight = "Unconditionally," Katy Perry ("I will love you unconditionally...")

~ Katniss x Peeta from The Hunger Games = "Rise," Katy Perry ("Don't be surprised, I will still rise...")

~ Anastasia x Christian from Fifty Shades of Grey (haven't read this, but based on what I know...) = "Bad Romance," Lady Gaga ("You and me could write a bad romance...")...literally wrote a bad romance...

~ Astrid x Sam from Gone = "Radioactive," Imagine Dragons ("I'm radioactive, radioactive...")

~ June x Day from Legend = "Centuries," Fall Out Boy ("Some legends are told...")

~ The Notebook = "Mariage d'Amour," Paul de Senneville (incorrectly labelled as "Chopin's Spring Waltz" on YouTube, but WHATEVER -_-)

The MR Pledge:
I promise to remember Max whenever I must lead.
I promise to remember Fang when I would rather not speak.
I promise to remember Iggy whenever something explodes.
I promise to remember Nudge when someone just keeps talking.
I promise to remember Gazzy when it just plain stinks.
I promise to remember Angel when someone manipulates.
I promise to remember Jeb when someone is a traitor.
I promise to remember Ari whenever life's not fair.
I promise to remember Lissa and Brigid when they are a player.
I promise to remember these,
Cross my heart,
Hope to sing,
And take a chainsaw to my wing.

Favorite random quotes from decades-old FFN profiles:

Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate.

I’m not sleeping. I’m just looking at the insides of my eyelids.

Why do companies offer you "free gifts?" Since when has a gift NOT been free?

If con is the opposite of pro, is "Congress" the opposite of "progress"?

Yesterday is history...tomorrow is a mystery...but today is a gift...that is why it is called the present.
