I write for those that want to read my stuff. Originally, it was just an outlet to get my creativity out and express all the angst I'm good at writing. ^_^; But when I read the reviews of my fellow readers and authors, telling me how good a writer I AM, then my priorities changed. I'm always trying to improve my skills and working on my beginner beta-ing experience. (which I've never heard of till recently...amazing as that sounds for an author lol) On to the topic of flames. I think EVERYONE knows the deal with flames. We don't like them and some of them (depending on amount of swear words or general critism) can make us cry or get upset. Some make us not want to continue a story we set our free time getting done for those that DO like and read to enjoy. My recent (I would have to call this MILD) flame from Inu in my A life of darkness has been my third. Third time's a charm ne? I have only one thing I'd like to say in my defense about my stories. My first flame was by someone who didn't leave anything (how convenient) and said that A life never my own was a total mary sue. With Harry as my main reviewer thinking up things that went through my mind, I got past my anxiety from the Mary Sue flame (which is still up for those that want to read) and finished the story. I tried my hardest to make the characters dislike my so-called 'Mary Sue', make her an entire different nationality, and gave her more home problems than probably any of the Ronin Warriors combined. The sequel A life of darkness with its most recent flame, is not a verified one. Had you read the whole story Inu and not just half the chapter and lost interest, you wouldn't have just cause to flame me. The only reason my 'Mary Sue' in the sequel is making a cameo is to give a little more insight to the relationship between her and Sage. Whatever develops is to give a happy ending to a loose thread I purposely left undone. That is all. |
