While many historians claim to know the true story of Dr. Westwood's boyhood, these tales are many and conflicting. We know, at least, that he worked as a humble apprentice to a Cincinatti cooper for some years, and that, on his seventeenth birthday, he had a fateful encounter with alchemist/investor Narcissus Steinburg. From there, even the most dedicated would-be biographer finds it difficult to separate history from legend.

The outcome of the October 2010 Writing Challenge Competition is one such debate. Professor Gerald Winnipeg, the acclaimed Westwood scholar, claimed vehemently that Westwood lost by a narrow margin, even coming to blows once with the infamous soothsayer N'nunga-Nath, who had allegedly spoken to the dead spirits of the Competition's other members and determined Westwood to have won. The conflict left the question unanswered and both men dead.

Thankfully, due to the miracles of Her Ultramajesty's technological internets, we are able to answer the question once and for all!
