Updates:

6.15.06:Nothing new, but I'm just pointing out some updates from last time:

I Am From: A Who Am I? type poem: anassignment for Art, but I rather liked how it turned out.

Diamond in the Rough: Written for a competition about developing personal character.

Rooftop Dreams: what will hopefully be a series written from my roof at night, because it's nice up there in the summer. Probably not always about sitting outside, but whatever.

The Dancer in the Piano: inspired at a chorus concert.

I'm sixteen, from the USA, and a proud Muslim who writes constantly. I'm pretty sure I'm only going to post short stories and poetry at this site, though I'm working on longer stories. I am a nature freak, and thoroughly proud of it. I climb trees constantly, and hike and camp whenever I can. Hmm...I love Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, which makes me sound scarily like a conformist. I'm not, no question. I disliked the Harry Potter movies greatly (except for Prisoner of Azkaban, which I enjoyed more), because I'm a purist, but although the Lord of the Rings movies left a lot out, I loved them. Speaking of LotR, if you have seen the movies, I highly recommend Evadne's Lord of the Rings Breadbox editions over at fanfiction.net. They're just totally hilarious. You can find me hanging out at many HP forums as Pineapple Queen. The forums include The Ink Pen, Phoenix Song, Sugar Quill, Unredeemed, and Time Turner.

Anyway, like I said, I'm probably only going to post poetry and short stories here. You'll find that the majority of my poems deal with nature, but you'll find quite a few dealing with fantasy, friendship, and life. I love feedback and take it very seriously, so if you review with a suggestion for any poems/short stories, I'd really appreciate it.

Just a little note--if you do review, I really like it when reviewers point out their favorite lines/specific lines that could be improved. This really helps me see my strengths and weaknesses, and I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm not going to list my works, since it would take too long :) I'll only say that the only short stories I have up are:

Riding Out The Storm--A girl has recently lost her mother and takes up an old quirk of her mother's to heal the pain.
Iron Gates--"They stand behind iron gates, in their business suits, perfectly pressed...they're all the same."
A Cup of Tea--A short vignette about an evicted woman in the Great Depression era and lost literature. Based on the painting "A Cup of Tea" by André Derain.

Also, I'd like to thank the people who have me on their favorites list so far:
