Author has written 26 stories for General, General, and Horror.Hullo my freaky darlings. I'm Katie (also known as Pixie, Kat or Katherine), and I'm verifiably insane. Well, I'm stretching the truth there, but I do have a mental problem. It's called D-D-Depression and I'm almost out of it. Go me. Or err not.
I hail (always wanted to write that..) from Australia, and I rather like good Gothic fiction, and fantasy, sci fi and history fiction as well. My claim to fame (other than winning the Noble Peace Prize from my assassination of G.W.Bush) is my persistance to remain GOTH in a world of peer pressure to become another normal teenybopper in the crowd. Ha. It sounds like the voice over for a trailer of a really pathetic superhero movie:
So I'd also like to take up some of this wonderful bio space to state that subcultures in Australia are almost totally different from what you get in America. Because they are. Eg. preps=teenyboppers. Yeah.
So lately I've been watching way too much of Jamie Oliver's cooking shows, yeah and have yeah started talking like him yeah and saying yeah way too much yeah? I also rather like Jamie's hair back in the Naked Chef days-it was so funny and curly. Okay so I get obsessed. And yes enough about my unhealthy Jamie Oliver obsession.
My favourite movies are: The Star Wars saga, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, X-Men, X-2, The Queen of the Damned, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and...I can't think of any more.
Recently my favourite authors seem to be; Kim Wilkins (an Australian Gothic fiction writer) who wrote such books as The Resurrectionists and The Infernal, Juliet Marillier (an Australian historical fiction writer) who wrote such books as Daughter of the Forest and Wolfskin, Isobelle Carmody (another Australian writer, but a fantasy one this time) who wrote Obertnewtyn and Darkfall among many others, and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro who's novels about the vampire Saint. Germain are just fantastic. Oh, and of course Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde can't be pushed off my favourite author list.
Well, I think I've overstayed my invitation here (REALLY?!!) and shall toddle off and annoy someone else elsewhere. If you think I'm not a complete bumbling idiot and want to talk to me, you can contact me on AIM or on MSN ([email protected]) if you'd like. Oh, and if I haven't completely bored you all mindless-check out my livejournal, for even more babble from me.
