FORMERLY MAIDENOFINSANITY. Still me though, promise. I've just had the same penname since 8th grade, and now that I'm in college and supposedly mature, I felt the need for a change and a slightly more literary name.
Hi, I'm really interested in poetry right now, though I do have some stories up as well. Also, I've been inspired by my Japanese class, in which we read a haiku in every lesson, to start experimenting with that, and with Tanka as well, not in the sense of how they're traditionally supposed to be written, but rather a format with which I can challenge myself, to see how much meaning/emotion I can coherently pack into so little space. So please read and review, especially for the poetry and even more especially for the haiku/Tanka because I could use all the suggestions I get. Thank you so much!
Note to Reviewers: If possible, when critiquing, please be specific about what needs improvement (or what you liked). I understand that one can't do this all the time, but it's much more helpful and fun, especially hearing what parts people liked, since they're often different from the parts I'm most proud of. I'll be trying to follow my own advice in my future reviews as well. Thanks again for visiting.
P.S: I like to put Tanka in the haiku section because that form is derived from haiku and so it seems like the best place for it. However, if you'd like to convince me otherwise, feel free to PM me with your arguments! --Actually, I am incorrect about tanka being derived from haiku, it is actually the other way around. Sorry for the confusion.
