Tips for fresh fanfiction authors like myself: Read and don't be afraid of people rejecting your story. If they don't like it, then fine. Screw them. =D
Actually, don't screw them, but take in their comments, even if it's a harsh one. One of the first thing to being a better author is accepting critism. Complaints and bad comments can be very productive. You can use it to see all the holes and fault you have in the story. If you accept critism, it'll make your story better because it's not a one way thinking. And don't quit your fanfic just because you didn't get the right 'number' of emails or reviews that you expected. NEVER do that because I did it. It does sucks to know that your story isn't great as you thought it would be, but if you stick to writing that story, you'll get the amount of reviews that you want. To tell you the truth, I was very disappointed in the few reviews I had for the first chapter of "The Apartment". It really disappointed me, but I stuck around to the story anyway. I gave up my other story before and I didn't want to give up on another story again. And as I continued on with the story, I found out that a lot of people liked my story even though I didn't think anyone even read it. The one thing that you should be aware is that their are a number of people who read your story secretly. They read, but never review. o.k. I need to cut this short. Good luck on your own story.
My homepage : no homepage for sailormoon.
How I got hooked on anime: I just saw a sailormoon episode one day and thought the drawings were pretty. So I stuck by to watching them and start watching other kinds of anime.
How I started to write fanfiction: For years, I've passed by the word 'fanfiction' and wondered what the heck did it mean. So me and my sister never got to find the answer until a couple of years later. The first site we entered was Marshangel's web site and we started reading our first fiction "Everlasting Love" and thought it was great. The writing seemed so professional and soon I went to read lots of fanfiction at Spring Library. While i read fanfiction, I'd also read the author's note and saw their joy in writing. I somehow wanted to be like them and started writing my very own. And here I am today, writing my very own fanfic. Though I'm not good at it, I'm still trying. ^^
