Name: Eden Tankersley Age: 22 Occupation: Fourth-year student in English Literature at a major school in the Northeast. History: Like many socially challenged, imaginative young people, my first introduction to writing was fanfiction, and I was a pretty active member of fanfiction.net from 2000 to 2002. Unfortunately, I got older, and as I started to actually learn about fiction and writing I became increasingly unhappy with fanfiction both as a concept and as a community. I stopped writing fanfiction in 2002 and had completely lost interest in reading it by the time I finished high school. But my interest in writing remained, and I started to experiment with original fiction in my spare time and as a stress reliever in high school. I did a lot more writing in college, especially after I decided to major in English/Creative Writing. :) I'm currently taking some time off from school, but I'll be returning as a senior in fall 2008. Considering my major, you're probably expecting me to say I plan to become a professional author. Actually, that's not really the case. My training in creative writing has given me a very critical eye for fiction and a love for editing, but I sincerely doubt that I have enough talent as a writer to make it my career. I'm also not committed enough to finish a large writing project, and every one of my half-started novels has fizzled after a few chapters. Perhaps someday when I'm older, wiser, and more mature, I'll finish something decent enough to end up in a magazine or on bookshelves, but I doubt that's in my immediate future. Instead, I want to end up in the publishing industry someday, putting my time and energy into transforming manuscripts into novels and young writers into published authors. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that I do love writing in my spare time. I've decided to post a few of my original pieces here, hoping that people will read and review and help me improve my writing! Please review! Even if you’ve got nothing to say, just leave a few words to tell me you read it. I’ll always return the favor! I'm always willing to edit or beta-read, too.
