I was studying an image that had a gloomy man in the backround trussed up in a clown suit. He was engulfed in nothing but black and blue, and his eyes were gazing outside the window. The poem is not based on the portrait, but rather, the color.

simon's psych prof said: "fear of failure?! what is this crap?!" but he was senile and had short man complex. This is in the style of daphne marlatt (ie. very weird and random, sorry). I was thinking about highschool. and being afraid to phone people.

Personally, I consider this one of the best things I have written thus far...at the very least...it's the most personal. Written in a frenzied, almost manic pace...the poem sums up my feelings better then I ever have been able to.

lighting flashes, trying to steal the rain from the clouds above... i feel it's pain.

Not sap. Not fluff. Not romance. Not horror. Not evil. Not cruel. Not possible. Not loved. Not hated. Not true. Not a lie. Nothing is my favorite word.
