Author has written 89 stories for Fantasy, General, General, Supernatural, Haiku, Life, Fantasy, Nature, War, and Humor. Hello people. (note: Changed my pen name. I used to be greenbug67.) You can all call me Mir-Firiel now--that's good enough for here anyway. I'm fifteen and I love to write. I am a hopeless bibliophile, and I love mythology and lore, especially Celtic and Norse. I also take interest in linguistics, fantasy (the genre), philosophy, music, art, literature, ceramics and archery. I like to sing (classically) and act. I can also play the clarinet somewhat, but rarely do now. I would also like to learn Welsh (on which I have begun somewhat), Irish Gaelic, Finnish, Arabic and Norwegian before I die. My favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, Eloise McGraw, Jean Craighead-George, Neil Gaiman, Patricia Malone and Brian Jaques. My favorite book is The Silmarillion by the initial author listed above. I've been writing for about five years, and have improved thousand-fold since I first started writing my (endless) stories of Aeniith and random poems. I now write mostly "fantasy" chiefly set in the fictional world of Aeniith, for which I am in the process of creating a language called Gotevian (among others than are very incomplete). I also write lots of poetry. On the subject of what I like to read, my interests are eclectic. I like fantasy fine, but many kinds of it tend to bug me for some odd reason. I don't really like modern-day fiction or fantasy much (i.e. industrial age settings). To me, fantasy is something to get away from the loud, greedy, rotting places in this world that humans have infected and polluted, so I like my fantasy more archaic. I appreciate well-thought out place- and character-names. Poetry-wise, I like tons of stuff. Poems about nature fascinate me, as well as those about existing mythology. Details attract my attention. Imagery is definitely my friend. I plan to major in English or Linguisticsand minor in Creative Writing in college, and hope to have something published somewhere before I'm twenty-five. 7-20-05: Wow, it's been a looong time. I have a plethora of writing to post here, so keep checking back to see what's new. I'm also about half way through a new novel-length story based in Aeniith, so if you like moderate fantasy (meaning with minimal "magic"-exploitation, etc.) you might find Ilomia Dunhirea to be of some interest. 2-03-05: Yes, most of the stuff on here is sadly outdated. It's awful. I hope to revamp this place and get more recent work uploaded sometime before the summer starts. I have been intensely writing lately however (I never stop for very long) so don't loose all hope. ;) I highly appreciate constructive criticism and any opinions you may have on my style or habits or what you think I could do to improve in whatever way, provided you are decently mature and articulate about it and don't give me useless flames. I tend to ignore and laugh at those. :) I also have a fanfiction.net account under the penname Mirfein, a DeviantArtaccount under twilightseeker, and a livejournal under maplepony.
