Hi Everyone! I'm Shojogurl my real name is Ashley. I love to write (obviously, why else would I be up here?) and read (again, pretty obvious) and I love music and I'm learning how to play the piano and the guitar.

New

I have decided to temporarily discontinue my multi-chapter stories up here. There are multiple reasons, but the main ones are

1. I have no time. It is a big commitment to write multiple chapters of a story, and when I was in high school, I had plenty of time to write. Now that I am in the real world and have a full-time job, it is a bit more difficult to find the time necessary to create those stories.

2. The stories I have need to be revised (like, hardcore revised). Those of you who have read my stories and have noted the numerous spelling/grammatical issues can attest to this. (I promise you that my grammar has improved DRAMATICALLY. This is in large part due to the grammar classes I had to take for my major in college.)

3. I feel that I need to improve my characterization skills. I seem to have a difficult time developing characters over long texts. I can do it in short stories, but I find it more challenging in longer works. (I know that sounds backwards, but that's how I feel.)

I will continue to write shorter stories and poetry. I will possibly post them up here, but I have very little time to do anything anymore. (I usually work about 50 hours a week.) I am currently trying to get my account reset, so there may not be anything new up there for a while, but I have posted additional stories/poems to that account.

ANYWAY! Thank you all so much for supporting me with my writing! It really means a lot! I'm still not too confident about it, but as long as one person enjoys it, then I will keep trying to improve!
