Author has written 1 story for Romance. Hello, I've been overhauling this account lately. I deleted one of my stories and also deleted several chapters from "An Insignificant Event." Quality control. Not to say that what's left is so spectacular or anything. But as for the deleted stuff, it was therapeutic to write at the time, but it no longer needs to be read by anyone. "An Insignificant Event" started out as an open-ended group of stand-alone short stories that I would add to every several months...or years. But I think that story's phase in my life is over, and I've done some editing to finish off the story. I might add another chapter or two somewhere in the middle since it's somewhat abrupt between chapters 3 and 4, but for the time being, I consider the story completed. A few people have asked whether An Insignificant Event is based in truth, or completely fabricated. Chapters 1-4 are based in truth, some loosely and some very precisely. My goal/premise in writing the story was to take mundane everyday life and "story-fy" it. So I took a girl with an understated personality that would normally blend into the background, and highlight her from the crowd as an individual, and show life from her perspective. I also wanted to take insignificant quotidian occurrences and give them a fairy tale-like quality and a story in their own right. Chapter 5, needless to say, is completely fabricated; my goal in that chapter was more to explore characters and dynamics. I have an idea for another open-ended group of stories, but whether I'll actually write them remains to be seen. So thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy my story. As always, I appreciate any and all reviews/feedback/critiques. Cheers, ~drenchedinwine |
