My name is Kourtney. I'm really not all that cool.

But, since you're in my profile, I suppose I should give you some information about my story(ies) before you dedicate half your life to reading the never-ending monster(s).

Firstly, I write mainly het. Which is, in a word, HOLY. Aha, no. Seriously. Male/Female, mostly, because I'm too much of a coward to write slash or femme-slash. Not that I'm averse to either because a well written story is a well written story. Judging by my favorite stories though, I have been leaning more towards slash for the majority of forever; I can't honestly remember the last time I read an actual story that did not have two males pawing at one another like rapid beasts after hot monkey sex. That said, its not that I dislike het. It's more... its easier to write. For some reason, even though I feel the dynamics should be just as complicated when it comes to a relationship, regardless of the gender of the two people in the relationship, I find a boy inserting his object a in the girls slot b to be fairly simple. Probably because I know that's where babies come from. Babies are simple. I like babies. I also like gay people. I'm a fag hag. Sue me.

There is homosexuality in my story(ies) though. It's a reality of life and so to make my story(ies) more realistic (even though it is the epitome of a soap-opera; I swear, I could get a show on the CW with the over and melodramatic crap that I write) I include that. In HUGE doses. Like, if I could make everyone gay, I would. But good stories DO need the token het couple, to be sure. Otherwise the world would be overrun by homosexuals. And then where would the BABIES be? Someone has to be responsible for keeping the world populated (and yes, I am conveniently forgetting that lesbians are still women who could get pregnant off of sperm donations and men are capable of adopting already born children or having surrogate mothers, plzkthx)! Sadly, my slash is neither very prominent nor very well written; I put it in not to progress the plot or character growth, but BECAUSE IT AMUSES ME. I'd do the same for het, too, if I ever wrote a slash story where the majority of the characters were gay. I mean, TOKEN HETEROSEXUAL COUPLE. CONTINUED POPULATION OF THE PLANET. It's not so much an issue when the majority of the people in the straight story are, you know, straight. XD

MY CHAPTERS ARE LONG. Sure, it could be called superfluous wording. I consider it more stream-of-consciousness-esque. All is not relevant, but still rather amusing. I am capable of writing short chapters, but please, look at my word count. If you don't like long chapters with lots of exposition and introspection, then please don't even bother reading and then turning around and complaining about it. There's no point or purpose. I'm still going to write chapters so long my fingers will eventually fall off.

And, yes. I am a very, very, very immature and naive 22-year-old.

Aaand Chapter 13 is up. Woo. It didn't go quite according to plan, because, to be honest, it was supposed to be about Natalie and Josh, but I managed something I thought was adequate anyways. And dropped tons of hints. Yay for miniscule plot progression. Or rather big progressions in the plot, on, like, four counts. That said, the whole Natalie and Josh thing that was alluded to during Josh's interlude will be coming to fruition at the end of chapter fourteen and the beginning of chapter fifteen. I guess I was a bit premature with his interlude, haha.

At any rate, chapter 14 is already underway and should get finished pretty quickly, seeing as to how the juices are already flowing pretty well. It only took me focusing on a bunch of other crap I didn't need to focus on for over a year before I managed though, lol. I am so sad.
