I'm terrible at writing these profile-thingies, but here it goes:

I am a nerd who is obsessed with words, Star Trek, and dragons. That's really all anyone needs to know about me.

I'm fascinated by languages, especially obscure or dead ones; I'm learning Latin and Finnish at the moment. I plan to learn Klingon and Quenya when time allows (especially since Quenya was based in part on both Finnish and Latin...)

I read fantasy and science fiction primarily, though I like some historical fiction. My favorite authors include Robin Hobb, George R. R. Martin, Diana Wynne Jones, Orson Scott Card, and yes - J. K. Rowling. I'll admit it - I'm a hopeless Harry Potter fan. I've dabbled a bit in fantasy CRPGs and anime, though neither is by any means my favorite media form. I write fantasy and science fiction too, as well as poetry. While poetry is all that I have on here at the moment, I'm working on a fantasy story/novel that may end up here. Eventually. Possibly.

And I'm a fanatical Trekkie. Really fanatical. I wear my Bajoran earring out in public most of the time and attract strange looks from passersby. I've seen every episode of TNG and DS9 multiple times and I'm currently going through DS9 yet again. My favorite character has got to be Garak from DS9, from whom comes my favorite quote:

The truth is usually just an excuse for lack of imagination.
