*NOTE: For those of you who care or are fans of my writing...*peers off into the darkness hearing the crickets chirp*...my poem "Damned" will be published in the International Library of Poetry's annual coffee table collection of poetry. YAY!! :)

I'm mean, I'm lean, I'm green, and I like pears.

Hey I don't know if anyone ever reads these things, but today I figured I had been lazy long enough and now is the time in which to forge ahead with this task of profile-writing...

First off, I'm a college student and *gasp* (you better sit down for this...) I'm a pre-med human biology major...(I told you...) I've been told that it is interesting that with a mind like mine (supposedly all scientific and logical :/ ) that I can and choose to write...

Now that's just stupid...I was a writer long before I was a bio major and writing and creativity are just as much a part of me as the reasonable scientist...I believe in the duality of everything in life...

And because of this bio major status, sometimes it's hard for me to keep up with reviews and review other people's work first...but I try...and I always review back...it just takes a little bit of time :)And I appreciate every single review I get...and my philosophy on reviewing is that I try to help the person be better if I can (and that doesn't mean that I'm trying to be mean), and if there's nothing that I find that can be better, then I tell them what I love about it.

My interests...(like you really care...) umm are reading (Dean Koontz, Marion Zimmer Bradley, J.R.R. Tolkien), writing (but only for myself, no essays :P), learning (that sounds hokey but its true), movies (Dogma, Lilo and Stich..so cute!, Good Will Hunting, Almost Famous) , MUSIC (Our Lady Peace, Incubus, Evanescence, Matchbox Twenty, Fuel, 3 Doors Down...the poetry of song...I love brooding, sentimental, poetic, beautiful rock gods!!), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (my secret indulgences...I love fantasy!!), and South Park (the episodes are deep, satiric masterpieces...besides the outrageous grossness of it).

I really don't have a favorite poet at this time...two of my fave poems are below. My favorite poets in this community though (and the list is ever-changing and growing) are Death's Counterfeit, Glitterjewele (my lone friend on the big college campus), and not sure yet. Check them out, their poetry is stunning (and I know good poetry...even if sometimes I can't write it...). :)

Fave Quote:
To be who we are and become what we are capable of becoming is the meaning of this world.
-Robert Louis Stevenson

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

--Robert Frost

The Tyger

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forest of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

--William Blake
