![]() Author has written 18 stories for Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Love, Life, and Song. my little corner of the world i'm nineteen, female, and have been writing since first grade. i'm one of those grammar nerds, so writing without capitals kind of bothers me. i'm a fan of all things rock 'n' roll and i love photography. i tend to write about teenagers because i am one and i can relate to some of them. if you send me a review, i will most probably review you back. i enjoy any and all reviews that aren't downright mean. criticism is good when it's constructive and needed. things i miss: my home town, elementary school, my old church, innocence, my dog lady, that beautiful man who will soon be gone. my pen name is alastingimpression, though i couldn't tell you why. i've been using it as a username in random places for years. favorites Bands- Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Queen, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bob Seger, She & Him, Making April, Taylor Swift. Movies- A Clockwork Orange, Ghost World, Fargo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pulp Fiction, The Virgin Spring, Blue Velvet, The Sweet Hereafter, Knife in the Water. fiction All Fall Down- Still in progress. It's a story about eight teenagers who make some wrong decisions and come to regret their summer of fun. Taken from all eight point of views. I like this story.. read it. Written in 2006-07 and edited in 08-09. Black and White Rose- Written for an English assignment in late 2004. It's about two best friends who find out that their P.E. coach is a pervert and decide to give him a taste of his own medicine, then tragedy ensues. I adore this story, though I see some mistakes now and I may edit it later. One-shot. Concealed- Short musing (between poetry and fiction) inspired by a wonderful, unattainable, older man in my life. I really like this. It's pretty sensual and it embodies all the simple and complex feelings I have toward him. Written in 2009. Hazardous Waste- This was inspired by both the boy I was in love with at the time and the song Hazard by Richard Marx. It's a short story about a boy trying to deal with the pain of losing the love of his life. I like it, despite the somewhat confusing non-linear structure. Written mid 2008. Immeasurable- Written on a beautiful, early spring day. 2008. I like this short piece. Into Eden- This is basically a little poem I wrote when I realized that there was so much of my past that I've forgotten. And I realized I'd soon forget the memories I'm making now. And this is a reflection of that. April 2009. nostalgia.- Easily my best poem. This was written during peak obsession with a boy I never attained (as always) in 2006. Basically, the speaker (myself) is longing after a beautiful boy. The poem takes place as she watches him from a distance. It's creepy and poignant at the same time. Mid 2006. Roxie Velveteen- I'm a sell out. And it won't be finished. In fact, it's disappearing soon. She Always Loved Horses- This poem is something I completely forgot about until I came back to FP recently. I really like it. It's about a boy and a girl that he lost. An outside source (the speaker, myself, whoever you want it to be) is consoling him from a distance. Written in mid 2006. The Five Senses- The same man who inspired Concealed and Elements of Desire inspired me to write these five poems (all have not been posted yet) based on different sensuous qualities about him. It's a good project, I think. April 2009. Winter- A one-shot taken from a man's point of view. He sees a woman on the street one winter, but doesn't speak to her, though he thinks he should have. Now he writes his regrets for the past. Written 2006. wonderland- Written during my experimental period at a time when I'd been lacking sleep for about 36 hours. Read at your own risk. I actually really like it, but it's.. yeah.. read it. I believe this was 2005. |
