Author has written 6 stories for Life, Fantasy, Love, Romance, Kids, and Humor. Hello, my name's Caitlin Serene Schendel. I am 18 years old since February 19th. I was a senior in high school this last school year, and actually I still am due to being behind in my work. However, I hope to graduate sometime in August still, and eventually attend Bob Jones University in South Carolina. I hope to at least minor in Creative Writing. My Writing Verse (Subject to Change): "In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury." Proverbs 14:23 I also ask that all my reviewers give me honest critisicm for my works. I know I'm not so good yet, but sometimes it's hard for me to see exactly where I've gone wrong on my own creations. I'm depending on you reviewers to give me an honest sense of how I've done. Of course I may be hurt at first--that's to be expected. But I'm forcing myself to take it. Tell me it's absolutely terrible, if that's the honest truth. Tell me you've never read anything worse in your life. Just don't tell me so without explaining exactly why it was the worst and how I can make it better. I know I can be good--I've only a humble beginning. Please help me. It does me no good if people feed me garbage about how something I've written was really good, if they are only trying to save me a few tears. Don't give me a false sense of assurance. I must know. I won't count it as a "flame" if you aren't attacking me directly. I'll be thanking you. Pay Attention! I do not care about my poetry as much as my stories, so if you are going to review me (which, I hope you do:) know that it will bring me ten thousand times more joy if you review my stories, than it will my poems. I only write poetry because it's short and I use it as space fillers most the time. My stories arenotalways very good (mymost cherished storyis not anywhere near being ready to post anywhere--except perhaps myown mind. The stories I post here are usually spontaneous burst of writing nonsense.)but anywayI thinkthey're usually as good as most other people's on the site at least. But I'll let you decide that, I guess... Please, read, review, and enjoy! "I would but...sadly I am only an eel." (A quote from Spongebob that I like, said by a female eel-customer at the Krusty Krab who couldn't show Spongbob how to tie his shoes, though I think it has more to do with how it was said than the saying itself.) "To love is easy and therefore common--but to understand--how rare it is!" (Emily of New Moon By: Lucy Maud Montgomery, page 272, refering to Dean Priest's comradeship.) "Emily, if I were dead and Perry came and looked at me I'd live again." (Emily's Quest By: Lucy Maud Montgomery, page 219, Ilse Burnley talking about how she feels about Perry Miller, whom she just got engaged to rather dramatically. Oh, how I envy her! If only Perry were real and he looked at me! The only thing I can't understand is why the protagonist, Emily Byrd Starr, can like Teddy Kent better. Don't you loathe (because "hate" was too friendly a word to describe it) that when that happens?) Oh, by the way, my boycub brother wants me to tell you people to review him. His pen name is Great Glaux, so if you can find him...or else just click on him from my favorite author's list. ALSO!! Just so you don't think I'm terribly conceited...there is a review on my Finding the Perfect Match story that appears to be from me, but I have news for you!! It's not!! My dad snuck on my account when I was away and read my story and wrote a review. Since I was signed in, when he submitted the review it appeared under my pen name. I wish he had signed 'Dad' under it at least, but no, he didn't. I won't go around reviewing myself. Caitlin Serene Schendel/Windy Mountain |
