Author has written 5 stories for Romance, Humor, and General. I have a place where I'm posting my drawings of my characters and some characters for ice flyer's stories. Check it out. First things first, I love reviews as do many fp writers. If you take the time to read and review my stuff, I will take the time to do the same for yours. While I do not support flames (accept nor issue), I do appreciate constructive criticism. Also, I don't mind editing stuff, if you like, of course. Profilish: I love comedy, action/adventure, fantasy, sci-fi (not hard-core, but its fun). I'm not a fan of petty romances (aka mindless infatuations, endless pining), or of angst (unless its warranted). Stories should include something significant, at the least, intellegent themes like class struggle, religion, philosophy, politics, war, psychology, etc. Granted, some of my own writing deems me a hypocrite, but the above is just characteristics of what I consider a good story. Interesting reads that fall into the above genre: Crown/Court Duel by Sherwood Smith the Tamora Pierce books - Alanna series, Wild Magic series, Kelandry series Poison Study, Magic Study, Fire Study by Maria Snyder His Dark Materials series by Phillup Pullman Some Dianna Wynne books Stories: 1. Just Saw the House in Half - formerly known as Zenith Versus Nadir, I changed the title because I thought it sounded more appealing, but always find the best titles when I'm finished with the work, so the new title's probably not going to stay... In any case, this is my working story right now, since I've actually planned out the entire story, so it's not going to ramble like, say, my other story, Happiness is a Warm Gun. It started out as a light comedy, but since the setting includes war and Happiness is a Warm Gun is on hiatus (and that was my deep thoughts fix), I'm predicting that while the humor will stay, it should turn a little darker and more serious. So the summary: Cuttana Nadir and Sharai Zenith are the Heiress of the Setting Sun Empire and the Heir of the Rising Sun Empire, respectively. As a result of a dispute between the Sage of Nadir and the Oracle of Zenith, the two empires, along with their allies, have been at war for the past millenium. Recently, they've come to a ceasefire, but in order to solidify a lasting peace, the highest political leaders of the world have come together to make a contract. This contract proposes a marriage alliance between the warring parties that is set to be fulfilled, to their great chagrin, by Cuttana and Sharai. Now, the two must set aside their strong dislike for each other and show the world that love and partnership can exist between arch enemies. In the mix are a mansion on the border between the two empires, with kitchens in one and the bathrooms in the other, gorgeous chief ministers, volatile alchemy and magic, economic recession, religious radicals and assassination attempts. 2. Happiness is a Warm Gun - This is used to be my more developed story, with crazy plots and a lot of pre-written material already down, but a lot of its is just random pieces that I can't really fit together to make a plot that'll you know end. So, this story is on hiatus, until I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I will try to finish it though :) Basically it's another love/hate romance about two rivals, Rivalyn Ermine and Leander Grant, who are elves that live up in the sky-born island of Atlantis. Lyn's always wanted to be part of the police/ detective force, but because of her gender, she's never been able to become an officer...until one day a situation forces the bureau to allow Lyn to go on a mission to prevent a goblin take over of Earth and Atlantis. Unfortunately, her mentor and handler is Captain Grant, with whom Lynn has taken up the cover as a married couple. Out to prove her worth, Lyn embarks with her nemesis to save the Earth and Atlantis from nuclear winter. As you can tell, its pretty ridiculous, but the plot gives me opportunities to write out awkward situations and fiery dialogue between Lyn and Grant. upcomming ideas for stories 1. (My parody, total comedy i should think, no dark stuff) It is a 'golden opportunity'-to get to learn from Master Chef Donatello Constanine-and Elena's lifelong dream seems to be at her fingertips, if only Don(Grumpy Old Man) and Ace (Rival/Jackass) didn't threaten to chop her fingers off. snipet Most people called her Elena--Lena, at most. But, of course, he had to call her El. "'El' for little, you know?" he would jeer, morpheus eyes lazily drifting over her petitte frame. Another feature he picked on constantly, and coupled with her firey attitude, he had christianed her 'El from Elba,' after the Frenchman, Bonaparte. "Simple name for a simple mind," he would finish. Now, everytime someone sang the damn alphabet she'd wince. Bastardo. Not that she slipped by without revenge, oh ho ho ho...NEVER! Most people didn't know the vermin's full name, but Lena--Lena was not most people. Acarnanus 'From Acarnania,' History of Names by Ermanno Fabbro had read, when she had searched feverously in Cuoco Buonos's only library. "Acarnanus.." she had let the name roll on her tongue, tasting it, judging it, molding it. "Say it a bit fast, and it sounds like a-corn-anus or acorn-anus, no?" she had inquired the librarian, who huffed away, muttering something of "...beloved Roma's end...brats...befoulling..." Lena found out later that Anus, for she had fondly named him so, and the Librarian-witch were related. 2. Last but not least, I'm already brewing up a sequel to HIWG. It won't be in Lyn's perspective, but by someone very close to Lyn and Lee.If I say more i'll give away chunks of HIWG's plot, so just enjoy the ride. |
