Author has written 22 stories for Love, Song, Life, Friendship, General, Supernatural, Young Adult, Romance, and Essay. Greetings. My name is Lauren, or Laurie, or Mira, if you prefer; "Scary Stalker Girl" is truly more of a title. Appearance-wise, I have shoulder-length brown hair with bangs; I'm pale (my mother calls me "pasty") because I dislike going outside. My eyes are a sort of blah bluish-gray, and I wear glasses. I don't wear makeup because I feel like if you're ugly it won't help that much and if you're pretty you don't need it (besides which, I never learned how to put it on. My mom does it for dances and stuff because she says I have to wear it for those.) I'm overweight, which bothered me for awhile but now I really don't mind. I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 5'6". I live in Raleigh, NC, and unlike most of my friends, I actually like it here. I'm a senior in high school, planning on majoring in art education in college and becoming an art teacher, preferably at a high school because I detest small children. I'm bi, though I lean strongly toward the hetero side of the spectrum. I'm currently single: straight guys seem to be afraid of me for some reason, though I do have a lovely gay boyfriend named Marc. Hobbies include painting, drawing, knitting, reading, writing, playing piano, so on, so forth. I'm kind of a simple girl: most of the kids who go to my school are wealthy, whereas I'm kind of middle-class. Music-wise, I like a lot of different stuff: 80s bands (Styx, Journey, Poison); classics (Queen, GNR); pop (Five for Fighting, James Blunt, Anna Nalick, Elton John, Saving Jane, Maroon5, Bette Midler); country (Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Emerson Drive, Lonestar); rock (Pink, Evanescence); alternative (Ani Difranco and emo bands like the Killers, MCR, Simple Plan, Green Day); and Broadway (Grease, Sweeney Todd, Rent, My Fair Lady, and, of course, Wicked.) As far as movies, I like chick flicks, of course, one of my favorites being "Never Been Kissed" with Drew Barrymore. My favorite movie ever, however, is "American Beauty." I read a lot. I like Gregory Maguire (author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which is my favorite book ever.) Also like Sunlight by Robin McKinley, most anything by Dean Koontz, etc. I'm known hither and yon as a Wizard of Oz and Wicked geek. I have a collection and am working my way through all forty of the Oz books, even the ones not by L. Frank Baum. I'm up to nine. I quote frequently from both Wizard and Wicked, and on costume day during Spirit Week at my high school last year, I showed up fully "greenified", my hair sprayed black. People got so freaked out, because you couldn't tell I was green until you were a couple of feet from me because of the brim of my hat, so I'd be walking down the hall and people would, like, jump back and stuff. It was awesome. I have a tendency to have crushes on gay guys and guys who are way too old for me, especially teachers. It's odd. I write mostly about what I know. My current work-in-progress is Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, which is a teacher-student-romance-thing. I work on it as my AP classes permit. |
