Ello, The name, for all of you that know me personally, is jsut a small reflection of myself, though that's not saying much, lol. This is my first try with a place that allows me to publish my poetry and get it out there for others to read and critisize and tear apart if you will, and though I was skepical at first I already had one awesome review, on the poem My Fault, Your Fault...you know who you are, I really appriciate it...anyways, I'll be posting as much as I can, for any of you that are actually interested... Any personal stuff you might want to know: As my name states, I'm a pirate...how? long story...SCA here, a promotion or two there...some killing...some blood (though not mine...wow was that conceded or what, lol?)...a little plundering...but all in all was simply hard work, and a nice name given to me by the Dark Court... Currently I'm working on an original fantasy and am completely open to any ideas, no matter what they are...if intersted IM me at my aol name...either that or jsut email me...lol...like I said any ideas are greatly appriciated... Wow I haven't been here in a while...okay first of all i love all you who review my stuff, you are the greatest and i appriciate it more than i can express...wow...and no flames...thank you so much...new poems should be flowin out soon...seeing as my writers block is lifting...thanks again!!!
Oh goodness, its been quite awhile since i last wrote anything here...oi, I should be arrested. Well for all who are interested, i've discovered the vicious cycle of writer's block and how to avoid it. Ahem, my plan goes as follows:
1. Write until your brain starts using the same scene over and over again in your mind, and that's all you can think about.
2. Print what you have written (or what you deem worthy), and copy it over into an actual journal so when the computer decides to delete, eat, and/or lose the countless pages of writing you have managed to squeeze out, you have a backup. This is the mind numbing work that cleanses the creative function in the brain.
3. Find something yummy to read, so that you might discover some more inspiration in the beauty of other writers!
Some suggestions may be
A Great and Terrible Beauty & Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Tithe & Valient by Holly Black (Her newest is Ironside but I'm hoping to get that for Christmas hehe)
Abarat & Days of Magic Nights of War by Clive Barker
Anything by Terry Goodkind
Kushiel's Dart, Chosen, Avatar, and Scion by Jaqueline Carey
Any of the Harry Potters by J.K. Rowling, DUH!
Faerie Wars, The Purple Emperor, and Ruler of the Realm by Brennan Herbie
Morevi by Tee Morris (he went to my highschool woo woo, he's so awesome!!!)
The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and the Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
...and if I've left any out I'll be back to add more, but that's all I got so far, these are AMAZING stories, don't let them go unread their voices NEEEEEEED desperately to be heard!!!!!!
4. Hopefully by this point, usually a 2 week - month time period you will be ready and wanting to write, and after this cycle is complete you should be able to pump out some pretty awesome stuff!!!
