Hi, I'm Amelia, I was born on the 7th of March 1987 and I'm 17 years old, I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I am the oldest of 6 (i have 4 younger brothers and a 2 year old sister). I enjoy playing the piano, reading, writing, being with family and friends.

New Zealand is known for its green grassness (resulting from LOTS of rain through much of the year), its native Kiwi birds (THE most boring birds ever - brown, fat, can't fly, only come out at night so you never see them anyway - why can't we have the pretty Pukeko, or cheeky Kakahe for our national icon and name instead?? - New Zealanders are often called 'Kiwis'). New Zealand is also famous for its SHEEP which live in the country, and I don't - and its Moari indigenous people, who do the Haka at rugby games, and say 'kiaora' for 'hi'. Rugby (boring) is our national sport which some people go crazy about. Peter Hillary was the first man (a NZer) to climb Mount Everest. New Zealand was the first country to get women the vote. And next year I'm 18 and I can vote too! Oh, and recently Prostitution was legalised. But as far as I can see, almost everyone is against it! I mean, what politician or man would want their wife, or daughter, to 'work' as a prostitute, anyway? It's still not, and never will be, seen as a respectable occupation, and its not womens 'choice' because what women would want to become a prostitute? Prostitutes usually have low self-esteem and value, and have been abused. Sorry for the speech. But apart from our present government and prime minister and for NZ's tolerance and acceptance for any religion except Christianity, and for our too-cold-for-me 12 degree celsius and wet and windy winters - NZ is a good place. Theres heaps of immigrants (our prime ministers answer to our 1.7 children per family population decline) esp. from Korea, Japan, China, INdia and the islands.

Anyone else who lives in New Zealand, review me! I'd like to know - make me feel less 'small island outside America that no-ones heard of'ish.

Fav. subjects are english, history, classics, geo.
fav. authors - sheryll jordan, david hill, j.k rowling,umm... lots others, lois lowery, and when i was a kid - enid blyton!! anne fine - and the magic key series.
books - the giver, possum perkins, um... first 3 harry potters,
fav. t.v programmes - well i only watch E.R regularly, but i also like simpsons, 10 rules to date my teenage daughters, um... CSI, malcom in middle, montana theatre... and cartoons - sabrina, recess, laura the explorer (a pre-schooler show where they also teach spanish so i watch it with my sister - abri - open, undo - go, salta - jump... or at least thats what it sounds like). umm... movies - shrek, 10 things i hate abut you, shanghai knights, road to perdition, ... i can't remember now.

I have been learning Spanish for the first time this year, hence the name. (Review me, if you speak Spanish (I know theres quite a lot of you) and I'll ATTEMPT to read/review your work from a 'can't understand much' perspective! It'd be interesting...).
I'm in 6th form this year and I babysit to earn money. I live up the road from a beach (5 mins walk) - lovely! and in this cute town called devonport, and I walk to school 25 mins. um, i sponsor this cute girl in tanzania called monica who's 3, and she reminds me of my sister. and i write to her and send her photos and stickers and things, and its lots of fun.
Right now I plan to do a BA, in english probably (as it seems the only thing that leads to jobs outside teaching), at uni, and then become a publisher, teacher, librarian or something.

At school - 6th form, year 12, NCEA exams (approx 1/2 our marks are internal, and 1/2 are in end-of-year exams for each subject) - subjects I do (in order of like to not like 'so much') - Classics, History, Geography, English, Spanish, Photography. English is usually my favorite but my teacher this year is not very good. Spanish is very hard (our teacher is trying to teach us 3 years of Spanish in one) and now we're past the fun noun stage and onto irregular verbs its more boring. Anyone else doing NCEA review or email me!

My fav. colour is red. It used to be purple. I still like blue and purple though, but purple is too girly/romantic/cute and blue is too ..brrrr.. cold.

My fav. number is 37, because I like 3 and 7 and its the only number I can say in German.

I'm a Christian and I love God SO much and want to follow him; He's the centre of my life and i love getting to know him better and walking with him everyday, and having his peace, strength, truth and unconditional love in my life. I don't 'condemn' non-christians, or think i'm better than them - i just write what has proven true to me, my honest thoughts in my poems - and i welcome others opinions and comments - i'm sorry if i have offended anyone thru what i write, i didn't mean to. but i am serving God, i'm not serving popular opinion. and as i said these are just my thoughts to myself - explanations etc. for what happens around me. I may have errors in my work, or things u don't agree with - if so, please say with reasons.

I've just discovered this site after I read my friends (runespoor oracle)stuff on fanfiction.net which is very good, but I don't much like fanfic...

Anyway these are stories I wrote in the last few years, and some poems which are not poetic as i am not a poet, so they are just my thoughts, not much condensed. I have also written some essays on various things (poverty, Ancient Greece, biography of myself, things about God)and a play and an interview both of which are supposed to be light-hearted and funny, and are about mythical Greek characters. I prefer writing stories. And excuse all typing mistakes - i typed this with gloves on coz my hands are cold.

please critique, kindly, these are my first writings on this site - ALL reviews are welcome - and I'll read your stuff and review too - thanks!

sorry - i know i've done too much writing, above - .!.

NB: Please review my new ones - Psyche Character(an indepth character analysis of the mythical Greek women)and my Psyche and Cupid play. And, if you can be bothered reading them, my short stories too! most of them are really REALLY short (less than an A4 page).

And I'll review everyone who reviews me, as far as my time and memory allows! (Remind me if i don't).

coming up, an ancient Athenian men essay to balance my Athenian women one.

Love you all! I hope you enjoy reading my stories, poems and essays - I hope mostly that they make you think more about life and God - that they'll help to bring you closer to God or at least to an undertanding of who he is and what he's like. Any questions, or comments or criticism/disagreement or not understanding what I said - please review, or email me! I love to hear from you all, and I will write back. God bless. Life is good, isn't it? In the end, overall, life is definetely good... *smile* happily.
