NEW STORY: October 23, 2008 - Outsider - "A troubadoring Gypsy rescues a baby found floating on the river in a basket. She is gadze, a non-Gypsy outsider, but despite warnings otherwise he takes her with him to find someone in a village to care for her. But with the prejudices that name his people common thieves and pagan kidnappers on his shoulders and a baron ruthlessly hunting down the child, can a Gypsy and an outsider become a family?" This is going to be put up in a series of long installments, but it will not be as long as any other story. (And Pixess, I know I asked you to beta but my docX is screwy and I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. :/ I'm sowee.) About Me Seventeen years old. Interests include art history, the history of Slavic countries, ink, drawing comics that never get finished, worrying about making it into prime art-schools with financial aid. Favorite writers include Voltaire, Dante, Heller, Pratchett, and Vonnegut. Favorite books include Heller's Catch-22 and Knowles' A Separate Peace. Dislikes syringes, doctors, and cliches, though will admit to having written some in the past. Enjoys art history discussions, correcting teachers, sarcasm, The Mighty Boosh, and cats. When seventeen-year-old Ira washes up on shore half dead after a storm, rumors start to fly about the Sirens, mysterious creatures that fiercely terrorize the coastal oceans. A corporate city-slicker Yankee buys a house down in the deep South and meets a charmingly offbeat Southern boy who shows him just how refreshing a simple life can be. A Catholic schoolboy returns home to Scotland for a dreaded Christmas holiday with his widower father, thinking it to be the worst possible fate he could have.
