1-29-2015: I'm currently (figuratively) sitting on a completed second draft of Nomad while I do some work on later installments in the series. I'm developing my voice/style a bit on books 2 and 3.5, and then I'm going to try to knock out a third draft of book 1 for sharing with beta-readers and whatnot. I'm still around...sometimes! I'm about to move to a new place, though, which doesn't have internet yet, so I'm not sure how often I'll get to lurk here. But I'm around and writing and I hope all is well with you, cool person! :)

Call me Lyra.
I'm a self-described nerd who loves scifi shows, crime dramas, action movies, and epic fantasy. I don't, however, write most of those things. I've tried my hand at scifi (fail), crime drama (epic fail), and epic fantasy (crash and burn) but usually I stick to the supernatural, horror, and general fiction genres. When I write, it's because I want to tell a story; it might not be flawless but I enjoy it and I hope others do too. I'm always looking to improve, though, so constructive criticism is very welcome.
About My Chaptered Stories:
Nomad: (Supernatural/Action/Humor/Mystery) After accidentally hitting a stray dog in her van, Nora finds herself drawn into the secret world of myths and monsters lurking on the fringes of human society. With the not-so-stray dog and his broody brother, Nora begins to figure out where she fits in with the disparate factions of America's hidden supernaturals. She has to hit the ground running, though, because ignorance is no protection against the horrors of her birthright. This has turned into a series that currently spans 6 novels, with intent to write more (up to 16 as of 8-7-14) at a later time. Currently expanding and revising a second draft. Ongoing.
Mountain Dawn - Working Title: (General/Fable/Fantasy/Drama) All Lea wanted was to give her brother a proper burial, but the mountain spirits have another goal in mind: revolution. This will be an expansion of my short story 'Mountain Boy', taking it in a more concrete direction than I did with the short. On hiatus while I work on Nomad.
Bay: (Horror/Supernatural/Action/Drama/Romance) A shadowed beast stalks the streets at night. The dogs have kept it away before, but when a new threat starts to hunt their protectors, it's only a matter of time before the beast returns... First draft fully posted. Second draft on indefinite delay but still possible at some point.
