Personal: I'm a 24-year old vegan, living in the south of England. I currently doing my masters in Professional Writing, which is scary. Interests: Writing, vampires, the gothic, anything to do with the sea/water, Doc. Ock., Ballet, ballroom, break dancing, ice skating, Tim Burton, Matchbox Twenty, The Lost Boys film (my favourite film), The Little Mermaid, German Expressionist films, French films, J- Horror, Martial Arts, Photography, Psychology, the Ocean. Wish the '80's were back. Have moments when I watch the Spider-man films way too much. Books: I mostly read - and write - supernatural horror. I like Anne Rice (Interview with the Vampire is my favourite book.) I was greatly inspired by Catherine Fisher when I was younger. I adored, and still do admire, her books. Also Sign of the Lion by Sherryl Jordan was one of my favourite books. I like the old Fairy tales too, The Snow Queen and Rapunzal being my favourites. Though I do hate what Disney have done to them I still have a fondness for their version of The Little Mermaid that I don't think is going to go away. Kiss The Girl is a great song... Inspirational Books: The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana by Umberto Eco; The Book Thief, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon; The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon; The Beach by Alex Garland. (Actually, everything he has written); Men, Women and Chainsaws and The Dread of Difference are very interesting, if not disturbing, achedemic books about feminism and how women are portryed in the horror film. Normally I skim through these books, or flick to relevent chapters, but I read these chapter for chapter. Be warned, it contains adult content, and may make you look at women in film a bit differently..., The Historian, The Time Traveler's Wife; I just don't understand how they can portray the magic of the prose on the big screen. Answer: they can't; Brick Lane; The Dark Angel Trilogy; Water for Elephants; On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King is a book I thoroughly recommend. It is very interesting, insightful and down to earth. Seriously, if you want to be an author read this book! The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I don't normally read erotica, but there is something about this series that I can't deny. Fantastic writing and characters; Let the Right One In and Handling the Undead. Currently Reading: Dwarves by Markus Heitz. Reviewers: Thank you to everyone who has reviewed and given me hints on how to improve my work.
