Okay, so you could probably guess many things about me from my username.

My name is Mary Kate (call me MK).

I'm a 19-year-old girl who likes to write and read. Unfortunately I don't get many opportunities to write, so if I haven't updated in a while, it doesn't mean I abandoned the story, it just means I haven't updated in a while and might need to be prodded. Writing is just a hobby of mine, not a career or anything, so that means I can't always make it my top priority. (Which is really a shame, 'cause I could use the practice.) This means I do a lot of challenge pieces/one-shots, but I've never finished a full-length novel. I'm hoping to change that someday.

I also love to sing (in case you couldn't tell from my pen name). I write songs, too. :)

Music is a huge part of my life, and for the most part, I enjoy all kinds. It mostly depends on the song itself to tell whether I like it or not, not the type of music or the artist.

I am weird, but in a good way. I am even weirder when you actually know me. That happens to be true for a lot of people... No offense to those people; it's a compliment. ;P

I don't really have much to say except to encourage other people to write, about whatever you want. Just write. It helps you, honestly it does, and it's a lot of fun! (Although it may make you crazy, since all the writers I know fall into that category. Haha.)

Stories:

The Panty Thief - a silly, fun, cliche-ridden story that I'm writing just for kicks and giggles. It makes me laugh, and I'm hoping it'll improve my ability to actually finish a story. Don't expect me to churn out a chapter a week or anything, but I'm using this story to really push myself and end with a completed work under my belt. I'll let you know if it ever happens. ;)

Yellow Sail - a much more serious story overall, with themes that people may not like reading as much. Nothing too terrible, but I can't give it away here. This is going to take a lot more effort on my part to complete. It is currently being revised/torn apart, and will probably not be updated for a long while. I'll keep posted the chapters that are here already, but they will eventually get replaced with newer better ones. Can't tell you when that'll be, though. Sorry.

Love at First Listen - posted as part of the Ideal Lover Challenge on TWA; requirements were to write a piece revolving around your favorite physical aspect of a guy/love interest

Little Red Planet - my response to TWA's Boombox Challenge, in which I had to write a piece based on a song; it tied for second place (yay! Haha)

A Wider View - submitted in the April Fool's Challenge on TWA; the stipulation was that there had to be a twist ending of some sort
