Author has written 2 stories for Romance. A, uh, 'seasoned' fanfiction writer (read: I'm old), I finally wanted a place to post stories that don't rely on an existing work of fiction or feature someone else's characters. I've been told my "style" is "clean" (I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I'll take any compliments I can get), and my strength is dialogue. I write in a variety of genres, everything from comedy to action to historical, but all of my works feature at least a subplot focusing on a romantic connection between a man and a woman. I especially love mysteries of the English "locked door" variety. I somehow end up writing more military-inspired stories thanI ever thought I would. And seem to have a fascination with writing hard-boiled detective genre-like works. If anyone can ever figure me out (or my brain), please drop me an email and let me know... Thank you for stopping by to check out my profile. (Excerpt from another, current project - in the Supernatural/Romance genre) Her eyes widened and her thin eyebrows pinched into a frown. "A vampire?" He waited for her to laugh or shake her head. There was a slight chance that she would believe him and back away…. Instead, she inclined her head as if she meant to study him. "I don't believe in vampires." She moved closer and stretched out a hand. He stared at her. The fingers of her left hand touched his forehead. They felt so warm… "You're…you're so cold." Her voice was a whisper. She moved strands of his hair and pressed her palm flat against his head – for just a second before her hand slid down to cup his cheek. The move exposed the inside of her wrist to his view. He could see the blue veins just under her skin and he caught the scent of her…mingled with her perfume. |
