Fictions in Progress:
As I work on the second book in the Dragon Shaman series, I'll archive drafts here. Be warned that after the story is written out I will be going back over it at least 20 times or so to polish it. Why bother posting it here? One reason is because this is a good archive system, another is that if something really stinks hopefully someone will tell me, and yet another is that stuff happens and if anything goes wrong before it gets officially published at least it's something from my heart to share... like everything else here.
Willow's valley is slowly dying. The balance has to be restored. She and two of her friends must face fear, discover themselves, and peacably reunite three estranged souls to bring rain once more. This will slightly cross over with "Taming the Mountain's Blowing Wind."
A wind god has fallen in love with his priestess, a relationship very unlikely even in his own world. Will he be able to win her love? Will man and spirit allow this union? Why is the God of Unity trying to keep them apart when he tied them together in the first place? Will Kaze be able to keep her safe?
A prophecy fortells the downfall of the House of Blood spurred by the House of the Forest River. What role does a miko have in this battle between human and spirit, and who is she really? Will she make the right choices, and what does her unknown past have to do with her alliances? Will she be able to stem the uprising against the Emperor and the House of the Chrysanthemum?
Formerly known as "Taming the Blowing Wind" and "Taming the Mountain's Blowing Wind," I have retired this story. The reason is simple. I am publishing it in paperback and in E-book for sale in its final version, which is available at for anyone who cares. This being the case, it no longer meets the standards for archival here. It was released for sale in October 2006.
Features BlowingWind and Ryu, characters that can also be read about on my fanfiction account as they adventure for my amusement with characters from Spirited Away.
Long ago an Irish Priestess was defiled, and the dragon that had become her protector laid a terrible curse upon the children of the man responsible. Too late he realized that his beloved had already conceived, and so not only was a cursed child brought into his keeping, but his own curse could not be broken until certain terms were met to mend the wrong.
Time passes through the generations, and one half of the cure is born in a distant land, only to suffer the same fate as all the other women of the O’Drake clan. But something is different about this cycle. Having been reborn into two separate yet concurrent incarnations, Drake has the power to set things right and correct two wrongs. A voice calls a young woman to cross the Pacific into yet another land.
Every girl yearns for adventure, romance and magic in their lives. BlowingWind had all of these and lost them, just as she was starting on what she thought would be the greatest adventure of her life. Now, she is being called out by the forces of life and undertaking the journey into adulthood alone. However, journeys always seem to entail healing, and a quest to find her lost love turns into something even greater.
Take Ryu is a boisterous magma ryu trapped for five years beneath Mt. Fuji for the crime of becoming too engrossed in human affairs. Upon the end of his imprisonment he emerges to find a strange and undefended shaman woman within his territory. Falling prey once more to his kind heart he too is swept up in the threads of a destiny that neither human nor dragon could have ever believed.
Genres: Fantasy, Romance, Adventure, Supernatural
About the Author:
I live in Weed, California, at the base of Mt Shasta. Writing has always been a love of mine. Here I archive many of my original works. I also have fanfictions in the Inuyasha and Spirited Away fandoms posted at http://www.fanfiction.net/~ladyrainstardragon.
I have been published in several poetry anthologies, the first two being A Surrender to the Moon and Sounds of Poetry through the International Library of Poetry. I have also recently been selected to be included in their Best Poets of 2005. In May of 2007 my first for-profit poetry book was being released at THG / StarDragon Publishing.
Audio versions of some of my poems, songs, and stories can be found at my audio studio.
I haven't decided if I like writing for adults or teens better yet, both are pretty fun.
I might even share some more of my children's bedtime stories (with two kids, I'm glad I like writing so much).
